Dear Sir/Madam,
As you know, strike action by two pilot unions has been disrupting our flights since Monday. Some of you have been forced to postpone or cancel your trip.
We would like to apologize for the inconvenience you have been caused. Serving you to your entire satisfaction is at the very heart of our activity and we are therefore deeply saddened by this situation. We share your frustration and fully understand your dissatisfaction.
Since the announcement of the strike, more than 7,000 Air France employees in France and around the world have been working around the clock to optimize the organization of our disrupted flight schedule.
We have reinforced our information and support tools which are available 24/7:
Website: www.airfrance.com
Facebook: facebook.com/airfrance
Twitter: @AirFrance
We have significantly increased the capacity of our call centres to be able to answer your questions and provide you with assistance as quickly as possible all over the world. In France, a toll-free number has been available since 9 September. This number, as well as the numbers to contact our agents in each country are available at www.airfrance.com.
Our teams are at your service, via these various channels, to inform you about your flight status and offer you alternative solutions if your flight is cancelled or delayed.
We also wish to inform you about the strategy we have adopted to consolidate Air France’s recovery and guarantee its future development.
Our ambition is to propose competitive offers in terms of products, services and price and a global offering for your trips, whether for professional or leisure reasons. To this end, we will continue to invest in the long-haul fleet – we have already invested one billion euros in our new cabins.
We also aim to develop our low-cost activity in Europe, with Transavia. This project is intended to complement Air France’s activity and is targeted at customers seeking low fares and a quality of service focusing on the essentials.
As Transavia has its own specific mode of operation, this has no adverse impact on Air France staff. We simply want to better meet your different requirements and compete on equal terms with the competition.
Please be assured that we are relentlessly pursuing talks with the two unions that instigated the strike action in order to resolve this conflict as quickly and as effectively as possible.
This is also what the vast majority of our staff want.
Thank you for your continued trust in our airline and we apologize once again for the inconvenience caused.
You can count on our commitment.
