お盆がたけなわとなって参りました本日ですが、

昨夜、筆者は友人と毎年恒例の奈良公園の燈花会に行って参りました。
奈良公園中がこんなことに。
夕べは春日神社でも 「万灯篭」の行事が行われまして、
灯籠の明かりしかない参道をひたひたと登って、
幽玄の世界に浸ろうと思ったら、あんた、本殿で
カンツォーネかなんかのミニコンサートやってまして、
ちょっと違うんではないかと思ったんですけど、
舞楽とか奉納する一環なのかなと思いなおし、
暴れずに帰ってまいりました。（どっちにしても暴れませんけど）
観客がたくさんいて、わりかし盛り上がってました。
軽く晩ごはんを食べたのですが、観光地のことですから
大したもんないんですけど、一軒、鉄道ジオラマのある食堂が
ありまして、メニュー的にはハナハダいまいちだったのですが、
どう考えても楽しそうだったので入りました。
楽しかったです。
余談ですけど、公式パンフレットで燈花会の英文表記が
TO-KAE
になってたんですけど、これだと
トゥー・ケイ
としか読めないんで、筆者のオススメは
TOHKA-É
って感じです。大きなお世話ですけど。

with one of my friends.

Last night, Kasuga Grand Shrine also had their Man-Tohroh ritual.
Going up the approach, which was lit only by candles,
I was ready to get ingulged in the subtle and profound misteriousness.
And when we got to the the main hall, there was a mini-concert of
canzone or something.
Holy Sh--!!! Oops! Sorry!!
It's kind of out of place, I thought, but then I thought again that;
since ancient times they have offered dance and music,though much quieter ones,
to God in Shinto shrines in events like this.
So I managed not to go violent forcing them to stop.
(Well, I don't go violent anyway.)
Besides, many people seemed to be enjoying this.
For supper, we found a place where you can eat
while watching miniature trains run on railroads placed in a diorama.
Feeling irresistible, we went in to the place and had fun!
Although the food was not at all what we were looking for.
By the way, the official English name for the event is:
TO-KAE,
which was written in the pamphlet.
But this can only be pronounced:
too kay,
so my recommendation is:
TOHKA-É.
