ラップは大好きではないが、好きなのもあるのでときどき聴く。
しかし、注意しないと、黒人のはものすごい内容だったりする。
彼らのラップは何を言っているか全然わからない。
たとえ歌詞が書いてあっても、多分意味がわからない。
わかったら聴けなくなったりする。
それに彼らのラップは、背景が濃くて主張が強すぎて、
ブラザーでない者は聴く資格もないような気持ちにさせられる。
そんなわけで、ラップのアルバムを自ら買ったりはしなくなったのだが、
ラッパーでないアーティストのアルバムでも1、２曲ラップソングが入っていたりする。
そういうのはラッパーのよりずっと分かりやすいし、内容も穏やかだ。

Jack Jonson の作ったRodeo Clowns という曲が入っている。
メロディーが好きで、毎日聴いているうちにちょっと歌えるようになったので、
全部歌えるようになる決心をした。
で、歌えるようになった。
私は日本語でも英語でも滑舌が悪い人間なので、画期的なのだ。
毎日、たいてい漬物のぬか床をかき混ぜながら歌う。
冒頭の「Yo, what's up? This is G. love...」というセリフから始める。
これはもしかして英語の訓練になるかも、と思ったが、全然そうでもなかった。
しかし、ボケ防止に効くかもしれない。

たいてい運転中に歌う。せつないメロディーが運転をアシストだ。
