ノブヒル地区にあるユニークな人気コーヒーショップ
The Coffee Movement
現在サンフランシスコに2店舗
第一号店のノブヒル店は、ケーブルカーミュージアムの近くにあって、
ドリンクをメインに提供している小さなスペース
お店の前に少し休憩できるスペースはありますが、店内には席はありません。
白色を基調にしていて、光も良い感じに入ってきて、清潔な印象を与えます。
シンプルなメニュー
クラシック、シグネチャー、そして季節の飲み物に加えて、お茶のカテゴリーに分かれています。
クラシックは、他のお店でよく見かける飲み物、ラテやカプチーノが含まれていて、
シグネチャーは、この場所特有の、Cocoa Cappuccino、Tasting flight（3種類のコーヒー、もしくは1種類のコーヒーを3つの形で）とEspresso Tonic（エスプレッソ、トニックウォーター、レモン）
そして、季節毎に変わるメニューには、Vanilla Lavender Latte、
Earl GreyhoundとMatcha Latteがありました。
お茶はSong Teaを使っています。
私はバニララベンダーラテ、パートナーはココアカプチーノを注文。
ココアカプチーノとバニララベンダーラテ
バニララベンダーラテは飲みやすくて美味しかったです。
ココアカプチーノは、カプチーノなので、少し少なめの量。
モカと違って、ココアが振りかけてある程度。大人のドリンクという感じでした。
モカ好きには少しものたりなかったかもしれません。
サンフランシスコにしては、良心的な価格設定。
近くにあったら通っていると思います。
季節ごとに変わるメニューをお目当てに来る人も多いみたいです。
ショーケースがあったので、ペイストリーも売っている、もしくは売っていたのかもしれませんが、私たちが行った時は空でした。
目に止まったのが、飾り？なのか、日本の雑誌BRUTASが置いてありました。
日本の雑誌に取り上げられたのかも？と思ったり。
The Coffee Movementは、2016年にBryan Overstreet さんとReef Bessetteさんが始めて、2022年12月に第2店舗目をリッチモンド地区にオープン。こちらは広いスペースで、店内に席もあるカフェ。
今度ぜひ行ってみたいです。
SF Gateによると、日本のブルーボトルの店舗のデザインを手がけた東京のデザイナー芦沢 啓治の事務所が関わっているとのことなので、ますます興味があります。

Hello everyone!
The unique coffee shop in the Nob Hill;
The Coffee Movement
They are currently two locations in San Francisco. The first shop in a small space in Nob Hill is located close to the Cable Car Museum, providing mainly drinks.There are no tables or chairs indoor but a parklet in front of the place. The white color is used as a base and it gets good sunlight so it gives clean impression.
Their menu is simple consisting of four categories; Classics, Signature Drinks, Seasonal Drinks and Tea.
Classics include drinks you’d usually find at other places like latte and cappuccino. The Signature Drinks are their special drinks such as Cocoa Cappuccino, Tasting flight (3 pours of coffee or three different ways of 1 coffee) and Espresso Tonic (espresso, tonic water, lemon and ice). Then, the Seasonal Drinks include Vanilla Lavender Latte, Earl Greyhound, and Matcha Latte.They use Song Tea for tea.
My partner had the Cocoa Cappuccino and I had the Vanilla Lavender Latte which was easy to drink and tasted well. As the Cocoa Cappuccino was cappuccino, it was smaller amount than a regular type of Mocha and it was more like a cappuccino with a sprinkle of cocoa. It is good for adults. If you are a Mocha person, you’d probably like more chocolate taste.
Their prices are very reasonable and it was a good value for San Francisco. I’d become a regular if it was located nearby my house. Apparently, many people would go there for the Seasonal Drinks. I saw a showcase so they might’ve had pastries.
What caught my attention was there were a few BRUTAS magazines from Japan. Maybe it was featured?
The Coffee Movement was founded by Bryan Overstreet and Reef Bessette in 2016, and the second location opened in the Richmond District in December, 2022. It is a cafe that has more space and some tables inside. I want to go there in the future. According to SF Gate,“Tokyo-based designer Keiji Ashizawa helped put the space together with his firm, the same mind behind Blue Bottle’s Japanese outposts,“ which makes me want to check this out more.
