忙しい日が続き、更新が遅れてしまいました
先日サンフランシスコで有名なドーナツ屋さんに行ってきました。
Bob’s Donuts
現在サンフランシスコに2店舗、ミルバレーに１店舗あります。
行ってきたのは、ローワーノブヒル地区の第一号店
サンフランシスコでドーナツというと必ずと言って良いほど名前が上がるお店。
沢山の記事に取り上げられています。
現在店内で飲食できるスペースは閉じていて、テイクアウトのみ。数名並んでいました。
窓際に沢山並ぶドーナツ
種類が沢山あるので、どれにするか迷いました。
メニューがなかったので、名前は違うかもしれませんが、
今回買ったドーナツ

昔ながらのドーナツ
やはりシンプルなフレーバーが好きですが、エクレアも美味しかったです。
パートナーはメープルが好きみたいです。
Apple Fritterやかなり大きいサイズのthe Big Donutも人気とのこと。
1960年代から続いているお店。
後から分かったのですが、現在のオーナーAyaさんが、約20年程オーナーのようです。
SF Gateによると1977年にAya Ahnさんのご家族が引き継いだそうですが、Bobさんが一体どういう人だったかは謎のようです。San Francisco Examinerの記事に、SFMOMA cafeにイツクッキーを提供したドイツ人という情報だけあるそうです。
このPolk Stの第一店舗のすごいところは24時間営業。そしてお手頃な価格。
San Francisco Chronicle によると、Lotta’s Bakeryが閉店することになったので、
その場所（1720 Polk Street）に、新しいお店が2025年位にオープンする予定のようです。

Hello everyone!
It’s been busy and my posting got delayed. We went to one of the popular donuts shops in San Francisco;
Bob’s Donuts
Currently, they have two locations in San Francisco and one in Mill Valley. We went to the first shop in the Lower Nob Hill District. I believe many people would think of this place when it comes to doughnuts in San Francisco. It has been covered in a lot of articles.
It’s only for a takeout and the indoor space is closed. A few people were in line. Many doughnuts were lined in the showcase by the window. It was hard to select a few. We didn’t see menu so I’m not sure if they are the correct names but we bought the Raised Glazed, Cinnamon Cake, Maple Eclair, Maple Old Fashion and Chocolate doughnuts. They were the classic type. I prefer the simple flavor; but, surprisingly the Maple Eclair was good also. My partner liked it as it was a maple doughnut.
Apparently, Apple Fritter and a super big sized doughnut, the Big Donut are popular.
Bob’s Donuts has been in business since 1960’s. According to their website, the current owner is Aya and she’s been an owner for about 20 years. According to SF Gate, Aya Ahn’s family took over the place in 1977. We don’t know much about the original Bob, “other than a 1977 San Francisco Examiner article that described him as “a German” who supplied the SFMOMA cafe with “authentic German cookies.”
The great thing about this shop on Polk St is that it’s open 24 hours. Their price range is reasonable. According to San Francisco Chronicle, they are planning to open a new location in 2025 or so where Lotta’s Bakery used to be (1720 Polk Street) as they closed down,
