コーヒーショップ＆カフェのFarley’s の隣にあって、気になっていたお店
Farley’s についてはこちらの記事を
とても小さなスペースですが、出入りが多い印象でした、
ウェブサイトによると、1992年から続いているとのこと。
Potrero Viewによると、Farley’sのオーナーSuzyさんとRoger Hillyardさんのお友達だったLeslie Goldbergが、空き店舗を見つけたときに、コミュニティーの一部として何かしたいと思われたのがきっかけで、お店を開いたそうです。
Farley'sがお祖父様の名前が由来というのと似ていて、お店の名前は、お祖母様の名前から。
HillyardさんとGoldbergさんはお互い競い合うのではなく、助け合うことを決めたそうで、お客様にそれぞれのお店を勧めるようです。
なので、ここでは、ソフトドリンクのみ販売していて、
コーヒーやお茶はFarley’sを勧められるみたいです。
エメラルドグリーン色が柔らかい印象を与えます。
サンドイッチの種類が豊富。
また、パンの種類を色々選べるのが良いと思いました。
サンドイッチの他にサラダやブリトーなどもあります。
今回買ったサンドイッチ

- ブラックフォレストハム＆スイスチーズ（全粒小麦パン）

ハムは沢山、チキンも沢山、かなりボリュームがありました。
食べやすくて美味しかったです。
全てのサンドイッチには、ドレッシング、レタス、トマト、きゅうりと玉ねぎが入っています。
もちろん避けたいものは、外すことができます。
アメリカサイズは大きいことが多いので、よく半分の大きさで売ってくれたら良いのに、と思いますが、こちらでは、その半分サイズでも売っています。
（半分のサイズで売っているのも貴重です。お値段は半分よりは少しお高め。8.95ドル）
また、半分のサイズのサンドイッチとスープもしくはサラダとセットになったコンボメニューもあります。
次回は別のアイテムも試したい、と思いました。

A cute little sandwich shop in the Potrero Hill District;
Hazel’s Kitchen
It’s located right next to the coffee shop and cafe, Farley’s and I’d been curious. It is a little space but I often see people going in and out. It’s been in business since 1992. According to the Potrero View, Leslie Goldberg who were friends with Suzy and Roger Hillyard, the owners of Farley’s, thought of wanting to be “part of a community” when she saw a vacant space and she made it happen. Similar to how Farley’s were named after their grandfather, she named her shop after her grandmother. Hillyard and Goldberg decided to “support one another rather than compete.” So, they recommend their place to their clients one another. Therefore, they have soft drinks only and recommend Farley’s for coffee and teas.
A misty emerald green color gave soft impression. They have a variety of sandwich menu items and there was good selection of breads. Besides sandwiches, they have salads, burritos and so on.
This time we got the Grilled Chicken Breast & Smoked Provolone with dutch crunch and the Black Forest Ham & Swiss with wheat bread. The amount of has and chickens was great and it was big in volume. I got full but it tasted well and easy to eat. All sandwiches come with dressing, lettas, tomato, cucumber, and onions. Of course, you could eliminate anything you wouldn’t like. I sometimes wish some meals in America would be in a half size and sold at a half price as it’s gigantic and actually this place offers sandwich in a half size. It’s not a half price but a slightly more. ($8.95) In addition, there is a combo menu which is a half sandwich and a soup or a side salad.
Since it was a good sandwich, I want to try other items next time.
