アウターリッチモンド地区に行く機会があったので、立ち寄ったベーカリー
Butter Love Bakehouse
オーシャンビーチ寄りの場所なので、ダウンタウンからは少し離れています。
アウターリッチモンド地区は静かな住宅街という印象。
38th と39th Streetの間、Balboa Street上にあります。
店内は一見半分オープンしているのかしていないのかわからない雰囲気でしたが、ウェブサイトによるとオープンしたのは、2016年とのこと。
Esa Yonn-Brown さんとJosh Perezさんご夫婦が始めたお店。

手書きで書書かれたメニューの紙が貼ってあったのですが、写真を撮るのを忘れてしまったので、名前は少し間違っているかもしれません。

パイ生地がサクサクで美味しかったです。
スコーンも程よい甘さで美味しかったです。いちごと抹茶の組み合わせが良い感じでした。
昔ながらのパイが人気、と後から知りましたが、確かにパイ生地が印象に残りました。
San Francisco Magazineのサンフランシスコでぜひ試したい10のパイの一つとして取り上げられていました。
その他、今までに紹介させていただいたお店もいくつかリストの中にありました。
Three Babes, Kahnfections, Loquat, Peasant Pies, そして、Fillmore Bakeshop。
また、Eater SFは、アップルサイダーやパンプキンスパイス味などのイーストドーナツも美味しいと言っていたので、今度は、通常サイズのパイとアップルサイダードーナツを試したいです。

Hello everyone!
We found a little bakery in Outer Richmond when we were around that area;
Butter Love Bakehouse
It’s a bit far from downtown as it’s located more towards the Ocean Beach. My impression on Outer Richmond District is that it’s a nice quiet residential area. It’s located on Balboa Street in between 38th and 39th Street.
When I went inside, I wasn’t sure if it was fully open as I saw some boxes and it was a bit dim. But, according to their website, it opened in 2016 by Esa Yonn-Brown and Josh Perez, a wife and husband. There were a variety of baked goods on a counter. We got a few items; Croissant, Apple Galette, mini Walnut Pie, and Matcha Strawberry Scone. There was a piece of paper with a hand-written menu item but I forgot to take a picture so the actual name of each item could be different.
I liked the crust of pies. It was flaky and had a good texture. The scone was good as well, which was not too sweet. The combination of matcha and strawberry was good.
After visiting the place, I found out that their known for their old-fashioned pies and it made sense. I found an article from the San Francisco Magazine featuring “10 Must-Try Pie Shops In San Francisco” and found that Butter Love Bakehouse was one of them together with Three Babes, Kahnfections, Loquat, Peasant Pies, and Fillmore Bakeshop, which I talked about before.
At the same time, Eater SF said, their “array of yeasty doughnuts might just as well be the stars, including seasonal pumpkin spice and apple cider.”
Therefore, I want to try the regular size of their pies and apple cider doughnuts next time.
