ピザの話が多いかも？ですが、
今回ご紹介したいお店は
Square Pie Guys (スクエア パイ ガイズ)
コロナ禍であったにも関わらず
勢いよく人気が出て、短い期間で急成長
7月には、新しい店舗をサンフランシスコのフィッシャーマンズワーフ地区に開店
かなり大きなスペースです。
サンフランシスコで昔から有名なギラデリチョコレート（お土産にも人気）のチョコレート工場があった場所、ギラデリスクエアの一画にあって、
立地も良いところ
美味しいらしい話題のピザ屋さん、と聞いてデリバリーで注文したのが少し前だったので、新しい店舗が開くくらい大きくなったので驚きました
ウェブサイトを見ると、結構な人数のチームなので、それも驚きました。
2018年にポップアップで創業して、
2019年6月、パンデミックの少し前に、サンフランシスコのソーマ地区に初店舗をオープン（現在デリバリーとテイクアウトのみ）
そして、もう1店舗、オークランドにお店ができて、今回は、3店舗目
これまた印象に残るようなロゴ
ギラデリスクエアの店舗の良いところは、
店内の広い空間とアウトドアスペースも広いところだと思います。
そして、道の反対側を行くと、すぐに湾が見られるので、食事前後のお散歩にもぴったりの場所。
ここのピザのタイプは、
デトロイトスタイルのピザ 
長方形で、分厚い生地。
サイズは 6x８インチ。
前に触れましたが、デトロイトスタイルは高温度で短い時間で焼くみたいです。
メニューの名前がユニークです。
私は、無難なペパロニとチーズが入ったThe 6 x 8
なんとペパロニ48切れ入っているようです。トマトベース。
レギュラーピザが、いわゆるチーズピザ。
イタリアンソーセージとペパロニが入って、ガーリックリコッタクリームが入っているのが、The Big Von。
同じくイタリアンソーセージとペパロニが入っていて、ソースがウォッカソースのピザが、Ellen Supreme。
お肉が苦手な方は、How Mush-Room。
他に季節毎、月毎に変わるメニューあり
The 6 x 8
ペパロニの数が他で見るピザよりも多い気がしました。
それでも、多過ぎず、むしろチーズやソースとのバランスで、ちょうど良い量だった気がします。
そこまで塩気が強くないのが良いと思いました。厚みのある生地は、中は柔らかかったです。
食べやすく、簡単に2切れ食べてしまいました

I feel like I bring up the topic of pizza a lot but here is another one!
Square Pie Guys
Square Pie Guys has been growing and getting more and more popular recently in a few years in spite of the Covid situation. They just opened up a new place in the Fisherman's Wharf area in July! It is a big space. It's located on Beach St. in Ghilardelli Square where the factory of the famous Chocolate in San Francisco (very popular as a souvenior as well) used to be a long time ago. I think it's a great location.
Some people were talking about a delicious pizza from this place so we ordered a pizza delivery a little while ago. Therefore, I was surprised at how quickly the company grew as they opened up a new location in such a good location with a huge space. At the same time, apprently, their team is big according to their website and I didn't expect to see that many people working for Square Pie Pizza.
They started with a pop-up in 2018. In June, 2019, a little before the pandemic, they opened up the first store in SOMA. The SOMA store currently provides delivery and take out only. Then, they opened another one in Oakland. So, this one is the third location.
Their logo is memorable. I can imagine those two guys would be the founders. One of the good thing about the Ghirardelli Square store is its big indoor space and decent outdoor space as well. Also, its location is great as it's very close to the Bay and you can just cross the street to see it. It must be nice to walk around the area before or after eating delicious pizza!
Their pizza is Detroit Style Pizza. They sell pizza with a size of 6x8, square and thick dough. As mentioned before, a Detroit-style pizza is baked in high heat in shorter time than deep dish. Their menu has unique names.
The 6 x 8 comes with 48 pepperonis and cheese with red sauce. We ordered this one as we didn't think it would go wrong with a popular type of pizza. The regular pizza is a cheese pizza. The Big Von is a pizza with Italian sausage, pepperonis and garlic ricotta cream. Ellen Supreme is a pizza with Italian sausage, pepperoni and vodka sauce. If you don't like meat, How Mush-Room is for you. It comes with garlic ricotta cream. There are some seasonal and monthly items.
Regarding the 6x8, I think the number of pepperonis is much more than a usual pepperoni pizza I've seen! It wasn't too much and rather it was perfect as it was a good balance with cheese and sauce. It wasn't too salthy, which was good. The dough was soft inside. It was easy to eat and I easily finished up two slices.
