First Day in Iceland | Hello Northern Lights

Hello Northern Lights

25 year old Japanese girl in Tokio. Currently working in investment banking and graduated from Waseda University. Nice to meet you here:)

Ya, finally I got to the Reykjavik around 3am.

I got to the airport around 1:30am 1hour dalayed as scheduled.

Reykjavik is the world’s northernmost capital.

Hehe, Shirokumasan came to the airport to pick me up.

It was very nice moment to see Shirokumasan in Iceland... Everything was first time!

I didn't feel uneasy but was full of happiness to see Shirokumasanラブラブ

We went to have first pizza in Reykjavik... It was just fast food meal but still, Yammy!I

Also, I saw already a lot of pretty and cozy town in Reykjavik from the car.

Then, we went to the land of dream in Shirokumasan's house. His house was so pretty too.

I'm somehow not prone to jet leg whenever and wherever I went abroad.

I can adjust myself to the different time... This is my giftにひひ

I get up around 9am and it was still dark before dawn.

I was impressed with this beautiful view in Reykjavik and enjoyed the calmness in New Year's Eve.

Hehe, this is 10:30... Still dark.

Shirokumasan didn't get up untill 12:00 as usual.

First of all, he introduced me his mom for the first time. She was very smart and sweet as I expected.

Then, his mom served breakfast to us. Thanks!! Then, we drive again in Reykjavik until dinner for New Year's Eve.

We had nice American dinner, Turkey and mashed potato like Thanksgiving day.

I met a lot of Shirokumasan's family and friends there. They were very kind enough to speak English not Icelandic as much as possible. I felt my icelandic was still Kids and stupid!

On New Year’s Eve, bonfires the Icelanders call them "brennur" are lit throughout the country to symbolize the burning of the old year. Seemed like accident but they enjoyed this brennur so much.

Also, at midnight the atmosphere became highly intense due to the hundreds, even up to a thousand, tons of fireworks that are lit up. On New Year Eve, to buy huge fireworks and enjoy that is allowed by the law in Iceland.

If you have been over the new years in Iceland you know how Icelanders love fireworks.

People were pretty excited and I also got high! I enjoyed the first day and New Year's Eve in Iceland,
