先週は、海外からいらっしゃった研究者がそろったので、せっかくの貴重な機会ですから国際ワークショップを開催しました。西岸境界流における海洋生態系の研究に取り組んでいる共通点があったので、これらのトピックを中心に以下のような報告をしてもらいました。

この頃は、組織運営や社会貢献などの業務が多くなってきたのですが、こういった研究の最前線の話を聞きながら様々な創造力を膨らます機会が得られて、個人的にはたいへんよかったと思っています。また、国際学会で発表予定の学生たちからも発表してもらいましたが、たいへんよい仕上がりになっていたとおもいます。相当の努力をして臨んだこととおもいますが、そういった努力とその成果がみれて癒されました。
ワークショップ後、改装された生協食堂で懇親会を開催しました。現在は、イノベイティブ・キッチンと名前を変えて、たいへん綺麗な内装になっています。定番のたこ焼きを上手に焼いてもらって、海外からいらっしゃった研究者には好評でした。久米さん・小玉さんファミリーも来てくれて、久しぶりに海洋生物ゼミらしいパーティができたので良かったです。
右端の女性が台湾海洋大学からいらっしゃったワンさん、その隣の眼鏡をかけたかたがテキサス大学からいらっしゃったリュウさんです。その隣が、熊本県立大学からいらっしゃった小森田さんです。久米・小玉ファミリーも揃って、子供たちが我々を癒してくれました。
