こだわり / my commitment

女性カウンシルの活動が目立つ私なのですが、女性カウンシルリーダーという仕事は本業ではないのです。
本業は全然別の事業責任者です。
別の言い方をすると評価のためにはカウンシルのリーダーをやる必要はないのです。
タイトルの変更を審査されたときも、女性カウンシルの活動はリーダーシップの証明のひとつにはなったものの、審査の対象にはなりませんでした。
本業の実績と今後の戦略が評価されたものでした。
なので本業以外の課外活動が多い私に対して、本業で成果を上げるようにアドバイスをくれた人もいました。
ですが、私はただ数字を上げるというのではモチベーションを保ちにくいため、働く意義のためにも課外活動が重要なのです。
課外活動と本業をある程度リンクさせるようにはしています。
数字が大事なのはもちろんわかります。
でも私はそれだけを続けられない。
ビジネスを作るのは好きだけど、数字はあくまで結果であり、目的ではありません。
みんなそうは言います。
が、どうしても数字がわかりやすいため、評価の対象になりやすい。
数字は大事だからそれは仕方ないとしても、一番いけないのはみんなが数字さえ稼げばいいと思ってしまうこと。
私はどうしてもこの考え方が嫌で、一石を投じたかったのです。
とは言え、数字を稼がずにというのも違うので、両方を叶えるよう努力をしました。
みんながそうじゃなくてもいいと思いますが、誰がやらなきゃ。
実現できてよかったです。
次に向かってまた邁進します。


I am known for the women’s council but my role of the council leader is not my main one.
My main role is to be responsible for profit and loss of my division.
In other words, the council leader is not necessary to be evaluated.
When I was assessed for changing my title, result to lead the council was one of the evidences to prove my leadership capabilities but was not the evidence to be assessed.
My main role’s results and my strategy for the future were evaluated.
Therefore one of my sponsors and mentors advised me to reduce non main role activities about a year ago.
However, I couldn’t keep my motivation if I focused on only making the number as my result.
Therefore other roles are important for me.
I always try to link them to my main role at some extents.
Sure I understand the number is important.
But I cannot continue my job for only the number.
I like developing business but the number is the results not the objective.
For sure everyone says so officially.
But the numbers are clear enough to be the targets to be evaluated.
It is sure that the numbers are important but I think that the worst thing is that almost all people misunderstand that only they have to do is to grow the numbers.
I haven’t liked this thought and have wanted to create a stir.
I didn’t like to be evaluated without enough numbers therefore I have tried to achieve both.
Even though everyone shouldn’t do so, somebody should do.
I am happy to realize it.
I am moving forward to the next stage.



ピラティス / Pilates

今年は健康のためにも美容のためにも絶対に運動しようと思うんだけど、なかなかまとまった時間が取れない現実があり。
結局以前自宅でやっていたピラティスを復活させようかと思ってます。
どこにも通わず、自宅で。
続きますように。
続かなかったらまた別の手段を考えようと思います。


I wanted to have daily exercise for healthy and beauty and I have a critical issue to not have enough time.
I thought that I do Pilates again as I did it at home some years ago.
I will do it at home.
I wish I could keep it.
If I didn’t keep it, I would think another way.

初詣 / Hatsumode

今日夕方近所に初詣に行きました。
気合いの入らない我が家はずっとこんな感じ。
かつ出かけるのも遅く、かなり暗くなってました。
健康祈願をしました。
小さい頃からあれもこれもお願いして、なかなか聞いてもらえないと思ってた私。
自分の力で成し遂げないといけないと気づいたのは大学受験に失敗した後のこと。
それはさておき次男が友達と焼肉を食べに行くのにギリギリ間に合うくらいに終わりました。
よい年になりますように。


We went to a shrine near our house this evening.
Our family are always lazy therefore we didn’t go to famous shrines.
Also we were late enough to get to the shrine darkly.
I prayed for health.
I found that my prays were not achived although I prayed everything I wanted to achieve when I was a child.
I noticed that I should achieve them by muself after I failed in exams to get into college.
Anyway we finished praying at the timing when my second son could go to a restaurant with his friends just in time.
I wish that this year will be a good year for everyone.

長男 / my first son

長男は1人で大阪の義母宅にいすわり、今日は日帰りで韓国へ、大学の授業が始まるぎりぎりまで滞在する。
義母には申し訳ないが、もう少しがんばってもらおう。


My first son stays at my mother-in-law’s home alone until his classes at college begins and he is in Korea on a day trip today.
I thank my mother-in-law.

自宅へ / came home

夫実家から自宅に戻りました。
落ち着きますね。
5日から出張なので、束の間ゆっくりします。


We came home from my mother-in-law’s house.
We are relaxed.
I keep being relaxed until I leave home on Jan 5th.

あけましておめでとうございます。
本年もよろしくお願いします。

新年の抱負です。

・今現在見えている職務(メイン、女性カウンシル(日本とグローバル)、サークル、有識者会議)を全うする。同時に後輩に引き継ぐ仕事を見極め、新しい仕事にチャレンジできる余力を生み出す。

・メインの役割で成長基盤を作る。グローバルでのビジビリティを上げる。

・仕事で新しいことにチャレンジする。

・三男の進級、そしてその先をサポートする。

・定期的に運動をする。中身より継続が第一。

・ストレス発散を行うよう、リラックスする時間を持つ。

・友人との集まりには積極的に参加する。

・何か新しい趣味を見つける。

盛り沢山ですが、楽しく頑張ります。



Happy new year!

The followings are my new year’s resolutions.

- commit to my roles which are the main one, the women’s councils globally and locally, the circle, and the experts’ meetings. make new space to try something new by handing over some tasks to next people.

- build growth basis for my main job. Develop my professional eminence globally.

- try something new in my job.

- support my youngest son to step up to the next grade and more.

- excercise regularly. focus on continuing more than contents.

- have relaxing time to release stress.

- join meetings with my friends proactively.

- look for new hobbies.

I will enjoy them.

タイトル / my title

今年は年初に仕事上の役割が変わりましたが、来年は変わらずにいくことになりました。
代わりに？タイトルが変わります。
年末に急遽チャレンジの機会をいただき、急いで準備してがんばりました。
英語力のテストではないのですが、英語力がなかったらもう少し躊躇していたかも。
年初に「英語力を上げるように」と言われたけど、自然に今年は英語力が上がっていたのでよかったな。
今年役割が変わったにも関わらず、継続的に成果を残せたことも大きかったです。
タイトルが変われば何かが変わるのでしょうが、とりあえずの役割が変わらないため、何が変わるのかも今時点ではわかりません。
でもがんばりは今まで通りに、そして変化は楽しみたいと思います。
新しいことに挑戦するためにも、仕事の一部を断捨離もしないとな。
いろいろと楽しみです。


My role was changed at the beginning of this year but it won’t be changed next year.
Instead, my title will be changed.
I had an opportunity to challenge for changing my title, prepared for it, and passed it.
It was not test of English capabilities but if my English skills were limited, I would have hesitated for it.
I was told to strengthen my English skills and it was better that my English skills had been improved without any efforts.
Also it was important for me to achieve continued growth although my role was changed in terms of having the opportunity.
I was told that something will be changed because my title will be changed but I am not sure what will be changed now because my role won’t be changed.
Anyway I will keep trying and will enjoy  changes.
I have to take away some tasks in order to try new things.
I look forward many things.

ヘッドハンターとのつきあいがありますが、もう少し知りたいというのもあり読みました。
私のようなビジネス好きには普通に面白い小説です。
ヘッドハンターがホステスもやるってのが、わからんでもないけど、ちょっと引っかかったかな。
読後も爽快です。


I have relationships with some headhunters and I read these books in order to know them more.
They are interesting for those who like business like me even without being interested in headhunters.
I didn’t like that the female headhunters work as hostesses as well in the novels even though I understood it a little bit.
They were refreshing.

大阪/ Osaka

夫実家の大阪に来てます。
昨夜車で移動しました。
今年免許を取った長男次男も運転しました。
ほとんど運転していない長男はかなりスリリングでしたが、無事に到着。
家族全員でお正月を大阪で迎えるのはかなり久しぶり。
受験やコンクールがない証ですね。

I am in Osaka where my husband’ mother’s house is.
We moved here by car last night.
My first and second sons drove as well.
We came here with safe although my first son’s driving was very thrilling.m because he had not drove.
Long time not to be here to meet a new year.
It is as evidence Wihich we don’t have any events like exams for entering school or contests this year.

二兎を追う/ follow two rabbits

二兎を追う者は一兎をも得ず　と一般的には言いますが、私は全くその思想を持っていません。

二兎を追う者は三兎を得る

です。

いい加減に二兎を追うからいけないのです。
ちゃんと二兎を追えばむしろおまけがついてくるんですよ！


Generally “ If you follow two rabbits, you can get neither.” Is known but I don’t agree with it.
I say

If you follow two rabbits, you can get three rabbits.

I think that if you follow them sloppily, you can get neither.
If you follow them elaborately, you can get them as well as a bonus.
