久しぶりに感謝する気持ちになれました Gratitude

3月の初め、私はカリフォルニアから日本の学校が一斉に閉鎖されるニュースを読んで

まぁ　なんて大掛かりな措置をとったんだろう！と　対岸の火事のように受け取りました。

A few weeks ago I was reading an article regarding Japan's decision to close all the schools

starting on March 1.  Wow, what a drastic measure that Japan was taking, so I thought.  At that time, I was thinking that pandemic was 'their issues' and not ours, just like a Japanese saying "a fire on the other side of the riverbank".

その２週間後に、息子たちの学校が３週間（プラス復活祭のお休み１週間）閉鎖されることになり、

月曜日から私たちの生活のパターンがゆったりと流れ始めました。

Fast forward for two weeks, my sons' schools too got shut down as well as businesses around us.

Since last Monday, suddenly, our schedule was forced to be altered and the speed of time began to slow down.

アメリカの教育システムは選択の幅が広く、ホームスクールで学ぶ生徒も多いので、

私は以前ホームスクールも検討していたこともあり、この体験をモニター期間として

みていこうと思います。

America's education system provides many choices (compared to Japan) for students and many families are homeschooling their children.  I was once comtemplating about this option, and now I get to experience that first hand.

次男（高一）は早朝からオンラインの講習を受けています。

My sophomore got up early and started taking online lectures.

三男（小３）の学校で支給されているノートパソコンと教材を昨日受け取ってきましたが、

As for my youngest who is in 3rd grade, I went to his school to pick up his Chromebook and 

study materials prepared by his teacher as Independent Study packet yesterday.

It is all ready to go.

とうの本人は早朝からお隣のお家へ朝食を食べに行ってしまいまだ帰ってきていません。

So where is he?  He was invited to go to nextdoor neighbor's house to eat breakfast together and hasn't been back.

Am I upset? Anxious?  Am I allowing him too much free reign?  Not at all.

私は三男がお隣の子供達と平日に一緒に朝食を食べるなどという

前代未聞の

ラッキーな体験を

十分楽しんでくれたらいいと思います

How often does he get to eat breakfast with his friends, who go to different school from my son, on weekday?

For my son, this is so special just like Christmas morning.

I so wish him and his buddies to have a relaxed and fun filled breakfast.

そして子供達は昨日作って仕掛けておいた罠に（昨日はセントパトリックデーでしたから）

レプリカーンが捕まったかどうかみるそうです　午前中には帰ってくるように言いましたが、

さあどうなるんでしょう。

After breakfast, they are going out to the back 40 (we live in 2 acre parcel neighborhood) to check and see if the trap they've made and set up last night for Leprechaun caught something.

He will come home when he is ready.

私は小雨の降る庭を眺めながら　目に入るものすべてにありがとうのエネルギーを送っているところです。

As for me, I am feeling gratitude toward whatever I see around me while looking out the windows.

庭のすべての植物に雨が水を供給していること

Grateful for the rain that supplies water to all the flowers and trees.

湿った空気を吸えること

Grateful for the moist and clean air I am breating

薪ストーブの火が部屋を暖めてくれること

Grateful for the wood stove for keeping us warm

薪が熱をくれること

Grateful for the logs for the fire

普段同じスペースを共有することのない次男がすぐそばにいること

Grateful for sharing the same space with a teenager who usually avoids being with me

外の餌バチにやってくる野鳥たちの歌

Grateful for the wild birds singing in the trees.

こうしてブログを書く時間が与えられたこと

Grateful for the time I have so that I can write and post blogs

当たり前になっていたことは実は当たり前ではなかったと知り、

そのことに対して感謝する機会をもらえたことにもありがとう。

I am so grateful for this opportunity to remind me that things that I took for granted was nothing less than extraordinary.

今日庭でみたこと Things I saw in the backyard today

春の匂いがしている今日この頃。

I have been smelling the spring in the air (and sneezing).

鶏小屋のドアを開けてニワトリたちに餌をあげながら

As I opened the chicken coop and let them roam the yard,

足元から春の目覚めのエネルギーを感じた。

I sensed the awakening energy of spring on my feet.

野鳥たちは朝から綺麗な歌声を奏で、

The wild birds are loudly singing their songs to attract mates,

葉っぱを落として裸ん坊だった木々も

and the bald trees are turning yellow green 

新芽を出し始めて庭が黄緑色になってきた。

with its new buds and flowers.

今日庭のポリバケツをどかしたら、ヤスデというゲジゲジみたいな虫と

I found some millipedes and a frog from under a bucket that was left alone for a few months.

カエルちゃんを見つけた。

午後になって植物に水をやっていたら

In the afternoon I found two snails mating under the bush.

交尾しているカタツムリを見つけた。

My 9 year old said that "they are using love sticks".....  LOL

ガチョウとアヒルを飼っていた頃には全く見かけることのなかったカタツムリ。

We didn't see any snails when we had geese and ducks.

天敵のいない今は激増して花をがっつり食べてしまう。

Now that the mortal enemies gone, the snails population is exploding and eating all my flowers.

夜に懐中電灯を照らしながら集めてはニワトリにあげてるけれど、

I often go outside at night with a flashlight to capture them and feed them to my chickens.

アメリカ生まれのこっこちゃんたちは、エスカルゴはお好みでないらしい。

Alas, my American born chickens don't fancy a delicacy such as escargo.

カエルちゃんと雨の降らない雨季 Frogs and the dry rainy season

カリフォルニア州の年間降水量の９０％が雨季（10月から4月）に降るのだが、

Ordinarily, 90 percent of California's rain falls during the rainy season(Oct-Apr),

今季はかなり乾燥している。

but it has been very dry this year.

2月は観測史上最低の降水量で、2月29日にぱらっとしただけだった。

It was the driest February on record in California, only a sprinkle dropped on Feb 29.

カエルちゃんの声もほとんど聞こえなくなり、どうしてるのかな〜と思っていた。

It has been so quiet at night since the frogs stopped croaking at night.  I was concerned about them.

空き地の水たまりなど産卵する場所がなくなり、産卵したかもしれないけれど、

There are no puddles anywhere.  They might have laid eggs there but it didn't

きっと干からびてしまっただろう。

make it as the water evaporated long ago.

今朝庭の周りにある容器にスプリンクラーの水がかかり、水が溜まっているのに気がついた。

I was walking around the yard this morning and saw some containers with water in it.

暖かくなってボウフラがわきはじめるようになったので、水をからにしようとしたら

It's so unusual to run sprinkler during winter months.  I was about to empty water so mosquitos won't breed now that the weather is so warm.

中にカエルの卵を発見した。

Among the leaves (and mosquito larvae), I found sacks of frog eggs!

かなり大きくなっていて、オタマジャクシの形になっていたのもあった。

It has developped into baby tadpoles in the jello looking sacks.

ハスの水槽にはボウフラが大好物というmosquito fish（メダカみたいな小魚）が住んでいて

I also found some eggs among the lily plants in my fish pond.  Mosquito fish will devour the tadpoles so

それはオタマジャクシを食べてしまうので、そこで見つけた卵も別の水槽に移動した。

I transfered those eggs to another container.

去年は庭の噴水のところで産卵していたのを集めて５０匹くらいカエルになるのを見届けた。

Last year, I have collected frog eggs from a water fountain and managed to raise about 50 frogs.

エサは茹でて柔らかくなったレタス。　日に日に大きくなるから面白い。

The tadpoles eat boiled lettuce.  It is so fascinating to watch them grow.

What a world we live in!  I am not talking about the politics.  It's about the amazing technology called the Internet.

I began communicating with the designer who lives in Pakistan and showed my childish scribble of designs.

She then turned these into a professional looking, minimalistic logo

シンプルですっきりとしたロゴにしてくれたのだ。

これから名刺も作ってみよう。

The next step is to make my business cards.

Tシャツも作ってみようかな。

I would love to make T-shirt with this logo.

ブランド化して　自家製のリップや石鹸を売ってみようかな〜。

How about start selling homemade chapsticks and soaps using this brand name??

本当のお仕事はほったらかしにして、遊ぶことばかり考えている。

My thoughts are filled with fun and playful ideas and my actual career launch is conveniently ignored.

Cavallo Point, SF サンフランシスコのスパ見学

今日はヒーラー　ジェニーのチャクラクラスのため、サンフランシスコへ行ってきた。

I went to SF to assist Genny's webinar today.

彼女のオススメのスパのあるカバロ∙ポイントという金門橋のすぐ横にあるホテルに

She took me to Cavallo Point in Sausalito to check out the venue and spa.

連れて行ってくれた。

ここは陸軍の訓練所だった場所で、それ以前はミウォック族が暮らす入り江だったそう。

This beautiful cove was once inhabited by coastal Miwok then later became military base for US Army.

The land was then transfered back to public and the hotel opened in 2002.

目の前のビーチから金門橋と湾の向こうにそびえ立つサンフランシスコの高層ビルが見える。

The view from the beach in front of this hotel is stunning.  We could see the high rise buildings of

San Francisco as well as golden gate bridge.

波止場では蟹取りをする人たちがいた。

There are many people catching crabs and fishing.

太陽の周りに虹のリングが出ていたよ。

I saw the ring around the sun.  Good omen.

ここにはとっても素敵なスパがあって、今日は見学しただけだったけど、

Cavallo Point has a beautiful spa and we got to tour the facility.

いつか一緒に来ようねと約束した。私は普段男ばかりに囲まれた生活をしているので、

Genny and I promised to come back and spend a day at the spa soon. I am always surrounded by the horde of testosterone (hubby plus two sons)

こうしてジェニーと一緒に女同士のお出かけをすると、私の女性性がとっても

Outing with Genny and doing girly activities nurture my soul and I feel

満たされて幸せな気分になる。もし家族でここにきていたら、蟹取りか、

so happy and my inner girl is very satisfied.  If I were here with my family,

ハイキングか、写真撮影（延々と。。。。）だけしていたことだろう。

we would be hiking, catching crabs or taking million scenic pictures.

帰りはサウサリートの街並みを通って可愛いお店を見ることができた。

We drove through the pretty touristy town of Sausalito.

そして早めの夕食をいつものインディアンレストランで食べて

Genny and I had early dinner at the Indian cafe, then we

5時からオンラインのセミナーの通訳をした。今日のテーマは第３チャクラ、男性性、パワーを取り戻すこと。

had chakra seminar at 5pm.  Today's theme was the 3rd chakra where it represents musculine, reclaiming our power,

自分の内なる光を表に出していくこと、光の中に生まれ変わること、生まれた時から一緒に

showing our light, rebirthing into the light, and meeting with beings who have been with us since birth.

いてくれる光の存在たちとスピリットジャーニーをすることで対面することができる。

This meeting really happened through spirit journey.

その存在がいつも私たちを愛し見守ってくれていることを知るだけでも勇気付けられるし、

Knowing your have a group of beings always loving us unconditinally and supporting us helps destroy false belief that we are alone and lonesome. 

寂しさや孤独感を感じることがなくなる。

Having these powerful supporters empowers us immensely.

ジェニーのオンラインセミナーは90分だけど、あっという間のような気がする。それなのに

Genny's seminar is 90 minutes long, but it feels so short.  But she takes students deep within themselves.

受け取る内容が　濃い。　自分が確実にシフトしたのが体感できる。通訳ではなく生徒としてEven I can physically feel shift after class. 

クラスに参加してみたい。

I would love to take her class as a student.

ジェニーはやはりほんまもんのヒーラーだなぁ、この人の通訳をさせてもらえて光栄だなぁと思う。

I really know that Genny is a legit and genuine healer.  I feel so honored to be her translator.

余談：大学の学費を捻出するため、ジェニーは昔スッチーをしていたらしい。当時住んでいた

Side story:  In order to pay for college tuition, Genny have worked as a flight attendant way back when.

サウサリートからサンフランシスコ空港まで　なんとヘリコプター通勤していたというではないか！！

She used to live in Sausalito and she rode helicoptor to go to SFO!

それも公共のバス並みの３ドルという運賃で、ヘリは彼女の働く飛行機のすぐ横に降りてくれたそうだ。

The fare was only 3 dollars (just like a bus fare) and the helicoptor would land beside her airplane.

2月11日にホームページのドメインをゲット！

I got myself a domain name for my consulting business!  Yay!

人生コンサルティングの社名は　Owl del Sol (アウル∙デル∙ソール）になった！

It is called Owl del Sol.  I know, it is a mixture of English and Spanish words.

英語とスペイン語のちゃんぽんなんだけど、音が気に入ったのでそうなった。

But I liked how it sounds.

意味は「太陽のフクロウ」。

Owl del Sol means 'the owl of the sun'

話せば長くなるので

It will be too long of a story to share how I got this name, but

由来などはここでは割愛するが、この言葉にはとーっても深い意味があるのだ。

it has very deep and sacred meaning to me.

言霊はやはりすごい。会社名に命が吹き込まれて呼吸を始めた気がする。

Words hold vibration and power.  I know so because once I start saying

何度も音にしてみると、その波動が宇宙まで波紋しているみたいだ。

my business name like a mantra, I can feel that its frequency is rippling outward.

世界中の人たちと共振しながら繋がっていくのが私の夢。

My current dream/goal is to connect with people and resonate with love and harmony.

早速ロゴのデザインをイメージ始めて、あーだこーだと書きなぐっている。

Now I began brainstorming about the logo design.  I am jotting down ideas on my notebook.

オットがFiverrでフリーランスのデザイナーを探せば〜と教えてくれたので、

My hubby suggested to find freelance designers on Fiverr.

インドとタイにすむ人たちに連絡を取った。こんなイメージでよろしくと。

I found two desiners from India and Thailand who would give me professional design ideas.

どんなアイデアを提案してくれるのか　ワクワクしながら待っている。

I cannot wait to see their ideas.

鳥の序列制度 Pecking Order

After such a traumatic experience, he absolutely refused to eat our eggs and 

declared that he only eats store bought eggs.

一時期言ってた時もあった。無精卵なら常温で何週間でも持つのだけれど、

有精卵のライフフォースはかなり強いので、早めに食べるか

The fertilized egg has strong life force so we had better consume quickly

冷蔵庫で保存するのが望ましいことを　身（目）をもって学んだのである。

or keep in the fridge.  That was the lesson we have learned with our body (or hubby's eye).

プレゼント その２ Another Present

コヨーテをプレゼントしてくれた彼女から

People who live in California are spoiled.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are readily available.

いつでも新鮮な野菜や果物を食べることができるからだ。

The climate is ideal for many produces and rich soil and abundant water

温暖な気候、肥沃な土地、ふんだんにある水源のおかげで、

supplies sustain expansive agriculture.

世界中に農産物を供給することができる。

Citrus fruits are particularly suited in this region.

特にこの地域では柑橘系がよく育つ。

They produce bumper crop with minimal care.

ほったらかしにしていても、秋には実がたわわになるのだから。

I have a mandarin orange tree, two navel orange trees

わたしの庭にはみかんの木が1本、ネーブルオレンジの木が２本、

and a lemon tree.

そして最近植えたばかりのレモンの木がある。

We share and exchange these citrus fruits, making pies,

お友達やご近所さん宅にも柑橘系の木があって、

jams, or simply juice them.

ソウル∙シスター Soul Sister

今日はジェニーのオンラインクラスの通訳のため、

I went to Marin County today since Genny taught her 7 chakra webinar course

サンフランシスコの北にあるマリン郡に行ってきた。

and I was her interpreter.

川の辺りを散策しながら、暖かい静かな時間を

We went for a walk by the Corte Madera Creek (but it's very wide), and we get to enjoy

warm weather and relax before the class.

彼女のクラスを受けたことが一度もないので、

I have never taken her classes before, Genny gave me a mini seminar during our walk.

散歩しながら、今日のテーマ、第一チャクラと先祖からのギフト

Today's theme was the first chakra and the gifts from our ancestors.

をミニ受講。　涙なしでは語れない心の傷が

I had no idea how much pain and burden I was carrying for my ancestors.  Genny's teaching made me face my fears and pains, and I was able to send them to the light.  What a relief!

光に戻って行った。ジェニーはすごい先生だ。

I truly believe that Genny is an amazing healer and teacher.  I feel so blessed to meet her on my journey and am honor to work and learn from her.

彼女は今年年女なので、ミニーマウスの腕時計を自分に買ったそうだ。

Genny is brilliant and a powerful woman, but she is also very funny and cute.

To commemorate her birth sign of a Chinese zodiac, she bought her a Minnie Mouse watch.

それが届いたら、２つ時計が入っていたらしい。

By accident, she have ordered two.

頼んだ覚えがないのになぜか２個注文したことになっていたそうだ。

わたしにその１つをプレゼントしてくれた。

So she gave me the extra one.

わたしのインナーチャイルドちゃんは大喜び。

My inner child was so delighted to receive such a cute watch.

中学生の時にミッキーの腕時計を持っていたことを思い出した。

I once owned a black Micky Mouse watch when I was a middle school student.

ジェニーと今年の目標を立てているが、

Genny and I have a huge goal this year. We want to host seminars and workshops all over the world.

二人で世界中何処へでも出かけてワークショップを行う時は

We made a promise to take our watch when we travel together and take photos

その場所をバックに腕時計の写真を撮ろうねと

of our watches at the place.

約束した。想像するだけで　ワクワクする。

Thinking about it makes me giddy and happy.
