The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) that the consular mission sent by the Embassy arrived in Morioka City at Iwate prefecture, 600 kilometers away from Tokyo, on Wednesday evening at 9, after a nine-hour bus trip.
The consular mission brought relief goods to the Filipino community there in the light of the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami which struck the northeastern region of Japan last week.
The Embassy team, headed by Consul General Sulpicio Confiado, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Ryan Pondoc, and DFA-Office of the Secretary Principal Assistant Andre Peter Estanislao, were met by Philippine Honorary Consul Masahiro Murayama and Mrs. Rose Apelo.
The team discussed with Honorary Consul Masahiro Murayama the condition of the Filipinos in Iwate, one of the hardest hit prefectures by the earthquake and tsunami.
The Embassy team left Morioka City Thursday morning. The group proceeded to the coastal cities of Kesennuma and Ofunato where they distributed relief goods to Filipino nationals who live in those areas.
The team distributed relief goods consisting of food packs, blankets, futons and other relief items.
Some Filipino nationals and their families lost their houses to the tsunami. They reported that food and gas supplies in Iwate are still limited.
Upon its return on Friday, the Embassy team will drop by Fukushima prefecture to fetch Filipinos who have expressed their desire to be relocated to Tokyo.
The consular mission’s bus left Tokyo Wednesday at noon (Japan time).
Earlier, Philippine Ambassador to Japan Manuel Lopez stated that the Embassy will send more buses to the area if necessary.
The Embassy’s first four consular missions were able to relocate a total of 143 Filipino nationals. These Filipinos are now temporarily housed at a Catholic Church in Kichijogi, at the Lighthouse Ministry in Yokohama City and at the Franciscan Church in Roppongi in Tokyo.
The Philippine Embassy is there to ensure the safety and to serve the needs of Filipinos in Japan.

The items included food packs, cup noodles, bath towels, plastic mats, and dusk mask.

今更なんですけど、フィリピンの回線業者のチープな対応にはちょっとガッカリぎみです。
まっでもPLDTに比べたら、今回のGLOBEは良くやっているほうです。

打ち合わせに出ていたら、こんなニュースが飛んできた～

地震が発生した場合、ムンティンルパの9あるヴィレッジの内8つが沈むと・・・
前々から言われていましたが、こういう表現で言われると怖いですね。
腹立つのが、お金持ちが山のように住んでいるAlaya Alabang Villageを除く8つのVillageが危ないと！
お家欲しいなぁ～

不動産業界は景気いいですね。
不動産開発大手５社の2010年度決算がこのほど出そろい、アヤラ・グループのアヤラ・ランド（ＡＬＩ）をはじめ全社が２桁の増益を記録した。ビジネス・プロセス・アウトソーシング（ＢＰＯ）向けオフィスやコンドミニアムの旺盛な需要がけん引したとみられ、業界の中ではＢＰＯ業界の堅調な成長に支えられ、今後も好調が持続するとの見方が浮上している。
BPOの需要が上昇しているのはいいですが、コンドミは乱立気味じゃないかな？と思ったりもします。
自分のもう一つのコンドミは、アクセスが便利なところですが、未だに借り手が見つからないですし～
コンドミを投資と見て買う人。
結構慎重に買ったほうがいいですね。
