Eve!
We went for breakfast at a diner this morning. It was very American. Elvis, Marilyn Monroh and Betty Boos were everywhere. My host dad ordered me a "normal" breakfast. That is...eggs Benedict with fried potatos! It looked oily and heavy. It WAS heavy!!!!! The sauce on the eggs on the muffins was cheesy and mayonnaisy. The muffin sucked up the sauce and tasted soooooooooo good! I finished everything on the plate and I felt full stillin the afternoon too. hehe
After the late breakfast, my host mom drove me downtown and dropped me off. I wandered around for 4 hours while window shopping. In the late afternoon, my host parents and sister picked me up and we went to Enid's house.
There, I held her for the first time. She moved and said something in my arms. So warm and so fragile. After dinner, we watched Sex And The City together. It was not a family movie, but you know what??? hehe I understood almost all the conversations! That made me proud :) I think I am good at romantic comedies :)
All I want for Christmas is beauty.
Two days to go!
The day we arrived in Victoria, we went to my host sister's straight away to see her new-born baby, Enid. Enid is Walish and means life-soul. I am lucky that I can be part of this wonderful situation with my host family. I was filled up with joy and happiness. I cannot picture myself having a baby...am I going to have one someday? Enid is a beautiful baby. She opened her eye and looked at me from my host dad's arms. I love her a lot.
Yesterday, we went shopping downtown. We had lunch at the cafeteria where Colin Firth was when my host sister was there before!!! That story made the cafe more attractive to me. My host sister thought he was more gorgeous that he is in the movies. No way, he is already too goodlooking in the movies!!
We went back to my host sister's. Enid was sleeping. What a cute, small, adorable creature! She makes me smile all the time. But I haven't carried her yet. I want to, but on the other hand, she is too popular and always being carried by someone, and I am a bit afraid to hold her because she is unbelievably tiny. I think I will try tomorrow....or maybe I should leave it for Christmas...?? :)
After dinner, my host dad took me to Parliament which was all lit up and so beautiful. I fell asleep when I got home...zzz
A trip to Vic
I was planning to go to Victoria by air, so my host dad and I went to the airport at 11:30 to take a 12:30 airplane. After we checked in, the departure board said, "The flight is delayed." We waited for another hour at the small airport. The day before, all the flightshad been canceled in Canada. We wondered if we should get on an airplane, but the sky was clear and not snowy, so we were sure we would be OK.
When we arrived at YVR, we couldn't believe in our eyes!!! ALL THE FLIGHTS TO VIC were canceled! "What the heck!? The sky is clear and the other airplanes are taking off! What is wrong!?" Nobody explained to us and we started to wait for our luggage, which they were supposed to bring to Victoria Airport.
Guess what happened? We were waiting and waiting and waiting for the luggagefor an hour and a half!!! I was starving and tired.
My host dad said, "OK, let's take a limo."
This made me alive again! It was the second timeI'd taken a Limousine. When I was six, my grandpa took me and my cousin to Hawaii. The limo brought back the memories :)
It was very comfortable and made me so happy.
We had to wait for a ferry for an hour and a half, but he got me a buffet style dinner at the ferry! It had everything...seafood, beef, vegetables...sweets <3
When I looked back at the day, it wasn't that bad--even though I was waiting for something all day...hehe
