Ottawa 2

I went to Canadian Museum of Civilization. It is in Quebec and the first language there is not English but French, so all the signs and everything is in French first. The special exhibition was about Ancient Egypt
. There were many stones and mummies. My mom loves mummies for some reason. I wondered if she liked this museum, too. The photo is my name in Ancient Egyptian. We watched a movie about mummy at IMAX theatre. IMAX is a huge screen which is almost 8 times as big as a normal movie screen. It was cool. There were also Native Canadian exhibitons, Canadian postal museum and Canadian kids' museum.

On that night, we went out to a Thai restaurant for dinner. My image of Thai food is colorful curry, but what we ordered was some fried vegetables dishes and a noodle dish called Pad Thai. Pad Thai has rice noodles with vegetables and chickens. It was spicy, but really yum. A decoration vegetable sat on each plate. I likes this elephant the best! Isn't he cute? The flower made by a water melon was placed in front of the front door. Very entertaining, eh?
And, AT LAST!!!! I made a Christmas ginger bread sleigh!!! Actually I wanted to make a ginger bread house, but I couldn't have found after Christmas. I went shopping to a grocery store and found this ginger bread sleigh. I asked a shop guy how much it was and he said, "Oh, you can take it free." What!? I was so surprised and couldn't believe....but I got two boxes for free for real!!! Yay yay yay!!! hehe
It was a lot of fun. I ate them all ;p It was actually really tasty. I heard that ginger bread for a house or whatever to be made was not that good as normal cookies, but I was happy that it was good! I put the elephant which I brought back from the Thai restaurant in the sleigh! Looking perfect! Cuuuuuuuuute

Ottawa
Hey! How is it going? I am in Ottawa!
There are many government buildings in Ottawa because it is the capital of Canada. The downtown looks very European...reminds me of the trip to Europe. We went on a tour of the Parliament building. It was originally a military building, but it became a government building after Ottawa became a capital. In 1916, a fire burnt down the building except for a library, so the library is the part of the original building. We went up to the top of the building (actually just under a big clock) and saw the entire city. Ottawa River was covered by ice and the whole city was white. It was very beautiful. It was freezing cold out, but my heart was so warm :)
We went to a Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. There are some in Japan.
One of my favorite points about Canada is that there are many pubs and cafes. Their food are my favorite; hamburgers, sandwiches, good salad, fish and chips, nachos and so on. I had Stilla Artois on the night with coconut curry, fried rice and naan bread. Every time I go to a pub, I cannot choose what to eat...everything is my favorite!!!
And the highlight so far is....skating on the Rideau Canal!! In winter, the water gets frozen and became the world's biggest skate rink! It is a UNESCO world heritage, too! Can you imagine that you can skate on the world heritage!? The condition of the ice was not as perfect as an inside skate rink, but it's worth it! I hadn't gone skating for 10 years? more? so I really enjoyed it! At first, I wasn't used to skating in the skating boots, but I was gradually getting a point. Matt said I didn't look like a beginner anymore, but looked like an average! Hopefully I can come again. It was -10 degrees...I didn't feel really cold. Am I getting Canadianized?? hehe
It is a 5 km skate rink, I don't know how long it is open now, but we made it to skate from the edge to the edge. Yahoooooooo!!!
There are food stands every so often. Beaver tail is Ottawa's famous pastry. It is a fried dough...basically a donuts without a hole.
I tried! Of course! hehe
I made a face because I ate the paper instead of the beaver tail!! hehe
It was quite big and the flavor was cinnamon sugar. There were Killaloe Sunrise (cinnamon, sugar & lemon), Chocolate hazelnut,
Maple butter, Maple walnut and so on. All you need is sugar and oil~~~~~while skating~~~
This is one of attractions in Ottawa. Must do!
The dinner was fajita. We went to a Texas-Mexican restaurant. You wrap beef, chicken, beans, cheese, guacamole and other ingredients with a corn tortilla. It was really really good. It became one of my favorite food :)
It has been so much fun so far!! hihi
I am scared of going back home. I will have to face the reality; my grad school, part-time job, financial problem....I will have to make friends again, live alone and deal with school stuff with a hard head profs. A lot of pressure and too much stress are going to kill me. I cannot imagine what my life is going to be like. The more my life here gets confortable, the more worried, scared and depressed I get. How long my happiness is going to last?

I went to the YMCA downtown yesterday. I got a one day pass from the massage therapist in the beginning of December, but I hadn't gone yet.
There were a lot of machines and equipment. I handed the ticket to the counter guy and he said, "Cool, go ahead." I was like, "What? I don't know how to use the machines and what is where." So, I asked the people who were working out how to use the machines and mimicked them while watching...what a stalker! hehe
I was there for 2 hours before my host dad picked me up. It was so much fun and I couldn't stop. I used a bike machine and a jogging one. I hadn't worked out for decades...like 4-5 years, so I didn't know that working out was so fun and actually I felt much better after that. My resolution this year is to become beautiful, so I will go to the gym when I get home and actually I am thinking of checking out the Tournament Capital Centre at school today! I am quite addicted now.
I had an A&W teen burger for the first time!! It doesn't make sense to work out and eat junk food though...haha. My host dad bought for me! The funny thing is they have a papa burger, mama burger, uncle burger, baby burger and so on at A&W!!! Yummy <3

綺麗の第一歩よーーーーーーっホッホッホッホ
I went to the Tournament Capital Centre (a gym at school) today. I am addicted to working out...haha. I had a
banana, milk and a lot of dry fruit this morning, but I was too focused on the workout, so I forgot to have lunch!!! It is unbelievably rare for me to skip one meal! Usually I had five meals when I lived alone in Japan!!!!! I am quite into my resolution, eh?
There were a lot of machines and equipment. It is said that they have the most wonderful and cutting-edge machines and what not. Yeah, the view from the gym was good and the customers were relatively younger than the ones at the YMCA. I prefer the YMCA actually because people are older and I don't have to think "Oh my god, my fat!!!". I worked on the bike machine for an hour and a half, but I couldn't use the running machine because they were all being used. I was a bit disappointed because I paid today (I got a free ticket for the YMCA yesterday)...well, whatever.
I went up to the mall by bus and realized I was terribly hungry...it was 3, so I was torn between to eat or not to eat. I chewed some gum and...of course I was still starving. I was looking for a present for my friend, but they were all sold. I went to Wal-Mart and they didn't have anymore either. No way, crazy Christmas shopaholics bought them all!!!!!
I walked all the way home, but I wasn't feeling hungry when I got home. I was just tired. I had dinner, and I am going to soak in the bathtub now!! Hehe, the way to beauty!!
