でも、みんながよく耳にするバレンタインとは少し違うよ！We had Valentine's Day Special at Kids Church this week! However, it's quite different from a normal Valentine's just giving away chocolates and sweets...
昔ローマでは皇帝が兵士徴兵のために結婚を禁止していたんだって。でも結婚を望む男女に自分の危険を顧みず極秘で結婚式を執り行っていたのがバレンタイン牧師。その後皇帝に見つかり処刑されてしまうけど、彼は神様の愛に生きた人だったんだよ。それからこの日をSt.Valentine's Dayとして愛を伝える日になったんだって。
Long ago in the time of Roman Empire, the emperor banned marriages because of concription. In the midst of that there was St. Valentine, a pastor who continued to initiate the wedding for couples who truly loved each other. He got caught by the emperor and was murdered, but the history remembers him as a person of Love. Valentine's Day is a day to remember him, and to celebrate upon True Love 1人の牧師さんの行動によって世界中に愛が広まったなんてすごい事だよね
How amazing is that LOVE was spread by the acts of just 1 pastor???
でもね・・・バレンタイン牧師よりも、もーっともーっとたくさんの大きな愛をくれるすごい人、みんな知ってるかな？
but but but...do you know SOMEONE who gives us so much more LOVE than St. Valentine???
それは、イエス様なんだよ～
that someone is....JESUS!!!
イエス様は私達にたくさんの愛を与えてくれる最高のヒーロー！
私達に愛をくれるだけじゃなくって、他の人々を愛することも教えてくれたよ
Jesus is the most amazing hero who gives us so much Love!
Jesus teaches us not only to receive His Love, but to give His Love
みんなの周りにいる家族やお友達のこと、みんなは大好きだよね！
じゃあ、仲良くしてくれないお友達は？いじわるしてくるお友達はどうかな？
You love people around you, right? Your family, friends, etc?
But do you love those who are not really nice to you? those who bully you?
イエス様が私達を愛してくれるように、私達も周りの人々に愛を与えていこうね！
As Jesus teaches us, let's LOVE people as He loves us!!!
そうしたらきっと毎日がバレンタインデーみたいになるよ
when you do love as Jesus does, every day is a Valentine's Day for us
