in the history who won
over 100 points in SP.
And in PyeongChang, 10 more points,
111.68, and stood the top with huge lead.
However, what a crazy guy,
in such an important situation,

「（バラード第1番は）本気でやってもなかなか手が届かない。
かなり難易度が高いもので、当時、平昌オリンピックの時もほぼほぼそのたった1回の演技でした。
けれど、なかなか成功することのできない構成を（開演から）30分くらい滑った後に演じるということは、正直、僕自身もほぼ不可能に近いというか、かなり難しいものだった」
“Even though you perform with all your energy, it (Ballade No.1) is quite hard to achieve.
It’s a such a tough programme, and in PyeongChang Olympics too, I performed just once.
The composition of it is so difficult to perform cleanly even doing only once, however, it’s almost impossible or awfully difficult for me to perform such a programme after performing for about 30 minutes (from the opening of the show).”
音を上げそうになっても、目の前にある限界に挑むことでしか生まれない訴求力があると信じる。
「でも、そこに対して思いっきり手を伸ばして、すっごい集中して本気でやっているからこその本気の命の灯火みたいなのがそこに存在するのかなと思っている。
それがアイスストーリーというアート×スポーツに欠かせないものなのかなって思います」と力強く言った。

ピョンチャンでギリギリだった構成を挑み切るというのは、やっぱ正直、挑戦してみて難しかったですし、でも、その難しさを超えられたところでしか得られない感動と達成感があるんだろうなっていうのは、やっぱりここはピョンチャンのあの構成じゃないとだめだなと思いましたね
Honestly talking, it is too difficult to carry on the programme that was barely possible in PyeongChang, but I thought that there must be a sense of excitement and accomplishment that can only be obtained in a place where the difficulty can be overcome.
