Yuzuru Hanyu is one of the most well-known figure skaters in the world right now. On Friday, August 4, he used his social media to announce that he was getting married. Hanyu thanked his fans for always being there for him during his 24-year ice skating career and promised to keep doing what he loves.

He shared the message on his official Twitter account. But the post didn’t say who his partner was or when the wedding might be. The 28-year-old two-time Olympic winner in figure skating quit the sport after coming in fourth at the Beijing Winter Games in 2022, just missing out on a third straight gold medal.

Hanyu, who is often called the “Ice Prince,” is now a professional figure skater who puts on solo shows and fills stadiums all over the world. Hanyu grew up in Sendai, Japan. When the 2011 Tsunami hit his town, he had to deal with terrible things.

Three years later, he won the gold medal at the Sochi Winter Olympics, becoming a role model for many survivors. At the Pyeongchang Games in 2018, he became the first skater in the last 66 years to successfully defend his gold medal in the event. At age 23, he was the youngest person ever to get the People’s Honor Award from the government of Japan.

Since 2013, when he won his first Grand Prix Final, Hanyu has won four straight Grand Prix Finals. This has made him a legendary figure in the sport and given him a loyal fan group. K-Pop fans love him because they know he likes the same music they do.
2013年にGPFを制覇、以後羽生はGPFを4連覇し、フィギュアスケートのレジェンドとして地位を作り上げ、熱心なファンダムを得た。羽生が韓国の音楽を好んでいることを知っているK-Popファンたちも彼をとても好んでいる。
He has shown a lot of love to the big K-Pop group BTS by playing their songs at his shows and even dancing as they do. Fans have wished Hanyu and his partner well on this occasion, but many also found it funny that the news barely mentioned marriage and focused more on skating and how thankful he was to his fans. Japanese netizens had some fun with the news, with popular tags asking if he is still marrying his sport.
彼は自分のショーでK-PopのBTSの曲を演じたり、踊ったりとBTSのファンであることを公言している。ファンは羽生と彼のパートナーを祝福しているが、多くのファンは報告で結婚についてほとんど触れられず、彼のスケートやファンへの感謝の気持ちであふれていると不思議に感じている。「スケートと結婚」というタグで楽し気にコメントしているファンもいた。

これまでも「羽生結弦を応援」っていうことは共通でも、どんな気持ちでどんなふうに・・・
人それぞれがそれぞれの気持ちでそれぞれの立場で応援してきているしね。
今も、それぞれ違った心で結弦君の幸せを願っているんだよね。
でも、幸せを願っているということはきっとみ～んな一緒。

Sending congratulations, many thoughts in Sarah’s mind, and Sarah believes you too must be the same. . . somewhat confused. . .
We have been cheering Yuzu while appreciating his skating, this part must be the same for all of us, however, each and every one has a different “mind” and being in a different situation, etc.
So we wish Yuzu happy life, but how we wish must be different.
昨日の雪肌精さんの結弦君は録画だろうけど、ふふふ、最初に登場するときって結弦君どんなふうに登場するのかな？
きっと何事もなかったかのように登場するんだろうなぁ・・・。
24時間テレビは出演するのかな？
Yesterday, Sekkisei released a video of Yuzu talking about Upcycle Project, it must be a recorded video though well, when Yuzu appears, wondering how he will be. . .
Maybe, as usual?
And well, now waiting for information from 24h TV. . .
hope Yuzu will perform this year too.

秋？ああ、ふと気づくと今年もすでに後半に入っていて、いやねぇあっという間に日々が過ぎてします。
でも、その毎日が結弦君で満たされているって、やっぱり幸せだよね。
だから、結弦君にはもっともっと、ずっとず～っと幸せでいて欲しいんだよね。
