パトリックからメッセージって聞いたときの結弦君のうれしそうなお顔。
なんか、めっちゃかわゆくて。
ってかさぁ、パトリックと戦っていた頃って
なんか、まだ、（それなり疑惑はあっても）
「競技」って状態だったよね。
なんか、古き良き時代？
When Yuzu heard that Patrick sent
his message to Yuzu,

Yeah, when Yuzu and Patrick were competing,
it must be so-called
"the good old days"?
At least, judges' were not so stupid as
they are now.
Patrick：Sure, yeah, I wanna say to Yuzu,
Yuzu, you . . just change the sport forever and I’m so honour to have been on the same ice, competing at the same competitions as you.
You are truly, I think a champion on and off the ice, I just wish you all the luck in the future.
I have no doubt you do something amazing just such you did on the ice.
So truly good luck, all the best, and thank you for the wonderful competitions we have each other.

え～そうですね、正直言ってしまうと、ソチ・オリンピックの後、前もそうですけど、す～ごいピリピリしてたんですよ。
あの、控室の中で、絶対、オレらしゃべんねえぞみたいな。
（T:お互い最大のライバルみたいな。）
そうなんですよ。すごいピリピリしてたんですけど、最後の方の試合、彼が試合に出る最後の方の試合で、何て言うんですかね、僕、絶対聞けないだろうなって思ったことを聞いたことがあって。
彼はスケーティングがかなりうまい選手なんですけど、「どうやってそのスケーティングやってんの？」って聞いたんですよ。
（T:質問が凄いシンプルなんですね。）
しかも、試合の前の公式練習、朝の公式練習の時に、「本当にすごいよね」って言って、「僕、あなたみたいなスケートがしたいんだ」って。「どうやったらなれる？」っていう話をした時に、色々教えてくれて、しかも、凄くニコニコしながら教えてくださった時に、なんか、お互いの信頼関係とか、あ・・なんか、これは僕のちょっと過剰意識かもしれないんですけど、僕に少しでも彼の成分を託していただけたのかなっていうふうに思って。

Well, actually, after Sochi Olympics, even before it too, we had an awkward relation.
In the backyard, something like “we never ever talk each other”, such a mood we had.
(Takahashi; Arch rivals each other, must be.)
Right, really we got a tensed relation. Then just before he left competitions, once, I, well, I thought I would never ask him such though, I actually asked him.
His had fairly quality skating skills, so “how do you manage your skating?” I asked.
(T: oh you ask such a simple way?)
Moreover, it was just during the official practice before a competition, in the morning;
“Really, you do great,” and “I’d like to skate like you do”, “could you tell me how to?”.
Then he taught me lots with a smile. At that time I felt kind of mutual trust, well, then, well, it’s my overconfidence or not, not sure though, I thought he trusted me to succeed his techniques.
結弦君、初めてパトリックと同じリンクに上がった時に
パトリックの氷を削る音にびっくりして
彼のスケーティング、盗んじゃえ！
ってじっくり観察したって
いつだった？（記憶が・・・）
修造さんに話していたことがあったよね。
Long time ago, also to Shuzo,

when Yuzu was first time on the same ice with him.

パトリックは、結弦君に
自分の「成分」引き継いでほしかったんだろうね。

「絶対、オレら、しゃべんねぇぞ」

修造：僕ね、羽生さんって本当に孤独なんだなぁと。
だって、戦っているの、自分なんですよ。
高橋：リンクでたった1人ですよね。
修造：しかも、周りの期待とかいろんなもの重なって。
結弦：う～ん、そうですね。やっぱりパトリックという存在が、やっぱり大きくて。
僕は本当に彼を、何ですかね、彼に追いつけるように、彼に勝てるようにってことを常に考えて練習していました。
で、実際、パトリック選手がいなくなって、ちょっと追いかける壁がなくなっちゃった感じがあったんですよね。
そこから「羽生結弦ってなんだろう」ってみたいなものは考えるようになってたと思います。
色んな所からかかるプレッシャーと、僕自身がオリンピックで一回勝てて、だけどこれから目指す壁がなくなってしまったちょっとした燃えつきみたいなものと、でも、頑張り続けないと皆さんの期待には応えられないという苦しさと、なんか色んなものを考えながら、うん、なんか戦っていたような気がします。
修造：自分を超えた、本当、素晴らしいわ。
Shuzo: I think Mr. Hanyu is really isolated.
You see, the one you fight with is yourself.
Takahashi: On the ice, all by yourself.
S: And expectations from people, many pursuers.
Yuzu: Well, whatever, the presence of Patrick was really big.

Then, Patrick has left, I felt as if I lose my goal.

Lots and various pressures I had, and I won Olympic gold once, but from now what shall I aim at? such confusion or kind of burnout syndrome I had, but at the same time I had to work hard to meet people’s expectations, all these puzzled me.
All these I was fighting with, such a feeling I had and fighting against them, I think.

何というか・・・
後輩たちの後ろの闇との闘い？
アスリートの戦いじゃなくなっちゃったような。
でも、それでも、
ひたすら本物のフィギュアスケートのために
羽生結弦のスケートのために
って頑張ってくれたこと
なんかね、本当に
凄い人って思うのと
感謝と・・・・
そして、やっぱり
本当の戦いじゃない歯がゆさに悩まされていたんだろうなって
切なさ・・・。
あ、でも、もうこれからは
ひたすら、誰にも邪魔されず
本物のスケートを続けられるね、
結弦君！！
