なんか、サボテンって不思議な感じだよね。

葉っぱの代わりにとげ！こんなんで光合成できるの？

Cactus, they are interesting!

Instead of leaf they got thorns, how can they do photosynthesis?

大きなお世話！しっかとやっているんだよね。それもね、他の植物って、夜になると二酸化炭素を出しちゃうじゃん。（すっごい少量だけど）でも、サボテンさんたちって、夜に二酸化炭素を吸い取っているんだよ。

Oh, no need to worry, they do! And the way they do is very smart! Although mostly plants exhale carbon dioxide at nights, but Cactus don’t. They absorb carbon dioxide at night.

ってかさ、サボテンさんたち、砂漠が故郷じゃん。だから、昼間二酸化炭素を吸い込もうとすると、吸い込みながら自分の水分を空気に獲られちゃうからね。

で、涼しい夜のうちに二酸化炭素を吸い込んで、昼間、お日さまが出てきたら、光をもらって光合成！

Since when they try to absorb carbon dioxide in daytime, they also lose water in them since they are originally live in deserts.

So, they take carbon dioxide at night when it becomes cooler, keep it and when the sunlight arise, they start photosynthesis.

そうそう、トゲトゲのサボテンって、邪気も吸い取ってくれるんだって。

え？サラのトゲトゲは、邪気をまき散らしてる？？？

でね、サボテンさん、邪気を吸いこみすぎると枯れちゃうんだって。

昔ね、じいちゃん（あ、当時はまだじいちゃんじゃない！）サボテンのコレクションしていたんだけど、やったら寿命短かったわ。

でさぁ、当時、サラは小学校生で、サボテンに毎日話しかけると、サボテンが元気よく育ってくれるって聞いて、こっそりサボテンさんたちに話しかけていたんだけど、いつの間にか忘れちゃったけど、でもね、愛情が足りなかった？（ってか、お世話しないんだもん！）めったにお花咲かなかったわ。

And also Sarah heard that when you talk to Cactus, they grow faster, so Sarah secretly spoke to them though, nothing happened almost no flowers came. . . (Well, before that we should have taken care of them!)
