「新型コロナウイルスと気管支喘息の関係性については、まだ確証となるものはなく、情報も十分ではないので判断が難しいところですが、呼吸器系基礎疾患を有する者が新型コロナウイルスに罹患した場合、重症化し易いとの情報もあるので、可能な限り慎重に行動したいと考えています。また、気管支喘息に関係なく、一部の選手が新型コロナウイルスに罹患した後、後遺症によって選手活動が困難になってしまっている点からも、慎重に行動を検討する必要性があると思っております。
現段階で、カナダ在住のオーサーコーチが日本での試合に帯同するために来日することが困難であることが予想されます。一方、私が日本からカナダの試合に出場する場合は、カナダ入国後２週間の自己隔離が必要となります。その期間、練習など一切のスケートの活動ができないため、選手にとって万全の状態で試合に臨むことができません。
このコロナ禍の中、私が動くことによって、多くの人が移動し集まる可能性があり、その結果として感染リスクが高まる可能性もあります。世界での感染者数の増加ペースが衰えておらず、その感染拡大のきっかけになってはいけないと考え、私が自粛し、感染拡大の予防に努めるとなれば、感染拡大防止の活動の一つになりえると考えております。大変残念ではありますが、以上の理由から、今シーズンのＩＳＵグランプリシリーズを欠場することを決心いたしました。一日も早く新型コロナウイルスが収束することを願っております」
"It is difficult to judge the relation between COVID 19 and bronchial asthma because of lack of conclusive evidences and relevant information, however it is said that once a person with a basic respiratory disease suffers from COVID 19, easily tend to be serious, so I would like to be as careful as possible. Besides my bronchial asthma, considering some athletes cases who are being suffered by sequela and having difficulties to go back to their athletic activities after they suffered by COVIC 19, I think I need to be very careful.
Under this situation, it is difficult for my coach, Brian Orser to come to Japan for a competition in Japan, also for me to move to Canada to participate the competition in Canada, I have to stay home for two weeks, during the period, I can’t practice nor skating. So I can’t prepare for the competition properly.
Also, when I move, then it will make other people to move and gather, such activities may carse another spread of infection. Right now, COVID 19 spreading speed is not sinking, considering it, when I control my activities, I think it will work for the prevention of COVID 19 spread.
It is a hard decision though considering above, I decided not to participate ISU GPS events in this season. Hoping that COVID 19 will be contoled as soon as possible''

だれよりも結弦君の悔しい思いは大きいだろうけど、でも、
やっぱり「無事」が一番！「元気」が一番！
それにしても、なんと思慮深い。そうだよね、結弦君が動けば、本当に多くの人が動いちゃうし・・・！
本当に、泣けてくる言葉！！
Well, of course, so sad to know it, at the same time, well, feeling so releived. Yeah, whatever, "HEATHLT" life should be given priority!
And really thoughtful decision, yeah, as Yuzu says, once Yuzu moves, then many people would follow him! really impressive, how deeply Yuzu considered!!!!
