暖冬の日本、各地スキー場は大変だね・・
this Winter, snowfall is very little in Japan, so many ski slopes don’t have enough snow. . .
暖冬だからと言うわけじゃなく、熱海梅園の梅
well, not because of warm Winter, as normal, Atami Baien (Japanese Apricot) garden started flower festival
「梅」ではないけど「梅」の名前がついているロウバイ（蝋梅）は満開
looks a bit like Japanese Apricot though, they are flowers of Wintersweet
Chimonanthus praecox
「梅」は実はバラの仲間、でもロウバイはクスノキの仲間
it’s a typical Winter flower in Japan
花弁の艶々で、まるで「蝋細工」みたいで、花の咲き方が「梅」のようなので「蝋梅」と名付けられたとか
and it is called as “Robai” in Japanese, “Ro” means “waxwork” since their petals are shining just like waxworks
熱海梅園、実は・・・主役の「梅」は、まだ3分咲き程度・・・
actually, although they started Flower Festival, the main feature is Japanese Apricot which were still about 30% or so blooming
でもね、毎年、ちょっと早めに一度出かけるの・・
な～ぜかって言うとね・・うふふ、それは、明日ね～！
but every year Sarah visits there a bit early, so see. . . oops, well, tell you tomorrow!
