今日もまたハスのお花
today, again flowers of Lotus
昔、ネパールの南端にある村、ルンビーニに行ったんだけど
インドとの国境からバスに乗って・・なんと床に穴が開いてた
バスの床に！
when Sarah was much younger, visited Lumbini
a small village in the Southern end of Nepal
went there by a local bus, oh, it was a lovely one
it was a mystery that such an old bus could move
ルンビーニはブッダ生誕の地
生まれたばかりのシッダールタ(ブッダ)が、突然7歩あるいて
「天上天下唯我独尊」って、右手でお空を
左手で地面を指さして言ったとされる村・・・
Lumbini is known as the birth place of Siddhartha (Buddha)
the legend goes;
soon after he was born, Siddhartha took 7 steps and said
“above heaven and below heaven, I alone am honoured”
while his right finger was pointing at the sky and
left at the ground
赤ちゃんブッダが歩いた足跡に蓮の花が咲いたって・・
and lotus flowers came out from the 7 footprints
蓮って、開花時に人の体温ぐらいにつぼみの温度が上がるんだそうだ
なんか、不思議な花だよね
Lotus flower is mysterious, it said when it flowering
the bud’s temperature goes up to 36-37 degree Celsius
ロータス効果 Lotus effect 
それにさ、普通は花が散ってから実がつくのに
蓮はお花の中にもう実がついている
（この実からホジホジして種を食べるの好きなんだけどな・・）
and normally plants got fruit after their flowers but
when Lotus got a flower, it has already fruit in it
(the seed in the fruit are yummy～！)
