Are you an Apple fan?
This is an Apple →

And this is also another Apple →

I think many of you may have studied the phrase, "This is an Apple" at school long time ago, I am going to talk about that other exciting Apple.
The new iPod nano 4 from Apple is now released!
This is the fourth generation iPod Nano of the popular mp3 player family looks very attractive and more colorful than its predecessors. I still have the first generation iPod Nano, so maybe its time to upgrade.
When it comes to new Apple products, I have been the Wait-and-See type. I don't even have the ever so popular iPhone either!
I tend to wait for the reviews by other users and then make the decision whether to buy or not.
Since technology moves so fast, I get the feeling that I maybe I should wait for the next version (i.e. iPod Nano 5).
The next "new" is a combination of either something that is smaller, brighter, lighter, faster, etc.
This happens to so many other products, maybe you find yourself deciding whether to buy the new TV or car.
There is a new PlayStation 3 console out in stores as well! The new PS3 is slimmer and has more memory than the previous one. And I think the price is lower too! Sooner or later I will buy this console.
So how about you?
Are you the first to always buy the new things? Or are you the one to wait until everyone else has one?

Four Idioms For My Move
Hello, students & all! ![]()
Today I'd like to introduce four idioms/phrases that I have used a few times lately. ![]()
Allow me to start* by telling you a little bit about my move: ![]()
For the past few days,
I have been packing and getting ready to move to my new apartment. Needless to say**,
I have been busy using all my free time to clean and prepare my things for the move.
A few times, I was invited by some of my coworkers and friends to join them for a drink or the like***.
Unfortunately, because I was busy, I could not go.![]()
However, everyone was very understanding because they know that moving is such a huge pain****. ![]()
Now, let's review:
* "Allow me to start"
is a very polite phrase to let everyone know that you are going to start. It has a subject and verb, so it can be used alone and can also be used as a question, similar to:
"Is it ok to start?"
** "Needless to say"
is very similar to the phrase "of course", but it's meaning is closer to: "It doesn't need to be said." It has no subject or verb, though, so you must add a subject and verb to use it alone, for example: "It's needless to say."
*** "Or the like"
is a phrase to add that you mean other things like what you just said.
****"______is a pain"
is an expression used to talk about things that people think are difficult, take a lot of time/energy, or that they would rather not do. It is actually a shorter version of: "_________ is a pain in the butt!" (Or, less casually: "_________ is a pain in the rear!") Something that really bothers someone is said to be, "A pain in the butt." You can imagine it like a bumblebee stinging you in the butt.
Thanks and if you have any question, please ask me in class! ![]()
