今日は、調布にあるアメリカンスクールで、END ALSのFun Run 3キロ マラソンがあり、参加してきました。
Today, Hiro came by ASIJ for the END ALS Fun Run. Over 500 people participated. I was one of them!
Fun Runが始まる前には、ALSと4年前に診断された藤田ヒロくんが来てくれて、生徒たちの前でスピーチをしてくれました。ユーモアに溢れているスピーチの中にも、ALSと闘っている一生懸命さがわかり、やっぱりヒロは、名前通り、ヒーローだな、と思っちゃった。
あれ？写真より格好良いね、と言ったら、
「よく言われる」と返されました。さすが！
Hiro was diagnosed with ALS 4 years ago, at age 30. He has been fighting for his life since.
He made a wonderful speech in front of the students and faculty today. Hiro is just amazing!! Just like his name, Hiro is a HERO!
When I told him he looked more handsome in real life, he said. "Yeah, I get that a lot."
Cute.
今日は、3キロマラソン。そんなマラソンにはぴったりの秋晴れ。
初めてのマラソン参加。
3キロってちょうど良い感じですね。
今度は、5キロに挑戦しよう！
Today was a 3 km fun run. I have never done a marathon in my life before, but today was the best day for it. The air was crisp and it felt so good to run through Nogawa Park.
