Summer time.
Yesterday,I finished working at 1:30am as usual. I usually go home by bus which
goes from near my restaurant to near the station;I usually take; all night.
I was sure that I had gotten on a bus at 1:40, but when I had gotten off the bus,
my clock said 3:15... It usually takes 30 min to take a bus...
Yes, Summer time started. When the Summer time finished last year, I felt profitable
to get one more hour at night. But I felt lose one hour last night.
It has a big advantage... daytime becomes longer than before!! I love it!

昨日の夜からSummer timeが始まりました。日本との時差が14時間から13時間になります。
こっちの携帯とかI-Podは勝手に時間調整してくれます。
昨日の夜1：59の後、3：00になりました。
Summer timeが終わった時は夜が1時間長くなって、得した気分になったのですが、
今回は夜が1時間短くなって、1時間損した気分です… でも、明るい時間が1時間延びたので
Happyです！もう春か。。。

BALENCIAGA.
The flag shop of BALENCIAGA is along the alley in Chelsea.
Most of the high end blands' flag shops like LOUIS VUITTON, GUCCI, PRADA...
are concentrated around 5th ave which is the most expensive area in NYC.
However, why do they keep a store in this area... I love this location though.
When I first went to the store, I approached from 11th ave because it locates
between 10th ave and 11th ave. Then, I found the entrance ,but it seemed
something strange. There were some iron steps in front of the entrance and
they had fastened them with a chain. I thought this store is closed on this day,
but I sensed someone in the store.
So, I looked over around the store, then I could have found another entrance.
The facade is interesting; you can look out the innermost of a store from a big clear
glass high sash. The right part of sash's form has connections with the walls that
are structured three-dimensional. The wall on the other side is structured with
old bricks but I guess those were reused from a former store.
Walk through the hallway, then you'll see unexpected space...
The floor material changes from exposed concrete to stately carpet, and a lot of clothes
and bags are displayed in luxury with rough materials like stones and sharp materials like steals.
I was sorry that I couldn't have taken pictures of inside though, I loved this space.

日本にもいくつかFlag shopを構えているBALENCIAGAのNewYork店はChelseaの路地を入った少し分かり
にくい場所にあります。LUIS VOUITTONやGUCCI, PRADAが５番街というNYCで最も高級品の揃うエリア
に並んでいるのに対して、Subwayの駅からも少し離れているこんな場所に構えたのは何か意図がある
のでしょうか… まぁ、このエリアは僕のお気に入りですけど。
このお店、10Aveと11Aveの間にあるので、１１Aveから歩いて入っていったのですが、最初に見つけた入口
は一番上の写真のように、雑な鉄製のStepの上にあって、何かアプローチが粗末。さらに、そのアプローチの
階段にはチェーンがかかっていて、入れないようになっていたので、その日は定休日かと思いました。
でも中には、人の気配がするし、とりあえず周りを見渡してみると。。。
別の入口がありました。店員さんも「１１Aveから来る人はよく間違っちゃうんだよね～」って。
入口は天井いっぱいまでの高い鉄製のサッシュにクリアガラスがはめ込んであり、一番奥まで見通す
事ができます。その建具の右側がおもしろく、内部の立体的に構成された壁と連続性を持たせた形状で、
BALENCIAGAのデザインの特徴である「鋲」をイメージしているようにも見えます。
反対側の壁は古びたBrickが貼られているのですが、これはたぶん前のテナントからあるものの再利用
でしょう。でも、周りのマテリアルとうまくマッチしているように思います。
廊下を抜けると、広い空間が広がり、洋服やカバンが荒い岩やシャープなスチールを使って贅沢に
ディスプレイされています。
床のマテリアルも廊下には打ちっぱなしのコンクリートを使用しているのに対して、廊下を抜けると
重厚感のあるカーペットに変わり、この切り替えが上手いと思いました。
内部の写真を撮れなかったのが残念でしたが、この空間好きです。
久々にマジメな空間レポートでした☆
