I'm back.
Hi, all. You guys have almost forgotten me, haven't you? Long time no see...
I have been so busy that I couldn't write anything on my blog even though I had had
so many stuff to want to write down on it.
I'm so surprised that the last time I wrote something was May 9th... Time flies!
Let's talk how I'm doing these days.
I have been taking some classes for certificate in Parsons which is one of the
most famous school of design in NY since the beginning of June. And I'm on a long
vacation from language school until the middle of August.
The classes in Parsons are really fun and tough for me since my English skill is not
enough yet. I could understand what the teachers and students (obviously almost all
students are American) say though, explaining something in my mind is really difficult.
My teacher gives us a lot of assignments every time and we have to present our plans
once 2 times during the class.
So, basically I do my assignment during the day and I have a class in the evening
on weekdays, then I have to work on a weekend.
I'm planning to go to Parsons until next Spring to get a certificate, then going back
to Japan. While I have a lot of things to do before I go back, I have to enjoy the rest of
time in NY.
I'm definitly feeling that I live in NY these days.
Certificate Program
BKLYNDESIGNS.
Friend of mine who goes to FIT gave me one flier of BKLYNDESIGNS which is
New York's premier exhibition of designers of contemporary furnishings and home
accessories made and/or designed in Brooklyn.
The show takes place May 7-9 at St Ann's Warehouse in DUMBO which is a pretty
well-known cool area in New York.
The vibe of the place was really nice. They have a high ceiling and a cool bar counter,
and there is a fantastic obje contained by some chairs at the entrance.
The place is divided into many booths and creaters of products and furnitures exbit
their own works.
There was a special awards ceremony of the web’s premier green design magazine in recognizing
the most innovative green designs at BKLYN DESIGNS with free beer.
The exhibitors who got this awards were not famous yet, but they must become famous because
all of their works were designed pretty well and had interesting concepts.
I really loved this event and I could have felt the designs in Brooklyn.
I'll put other pictures on later... Don't miss them!
