みなさん「Take」という動詞をご存知ですよね。
小学校、中学校で学ぶとても簡単な英単語の１つです。
しかし、Takeには沢山の意味があります。
例えば、取り除く、捕らえる、得る、使用している、消費するなどが挙げられますが、単語としてだけでなく熟語としても様々な意味を持っています。
そこで本日は、１２個のTakeを含む頻出熟語を例文とともにご紹介していきます！

To take a walk – 散歩する
- I have to take a walk with my dog twice a day.
（一日に２回は犬の散歩をしなくてはならない。）
- The weather is so nice today, why don’t we take a walk?
（天気が良いから、散歩にでも行かない？）
To take a seat – 席を選んで座る
- Take a seat while you wait for the doctor to call you.
（お医者さんが呼ぶまで座って待っていてください。）
- When I got to class the auditorium was already crowed, so I took a seat at the back.
（私が授業に行った時にはもう講堂は混んでたよ。だから後ろの方に座った。）
To take a look (at) – ささっと（その情報に）目を通す
- I’m having trouble with my math homework. Can I take a look at yours?
（数学の宿題ができないんだけど、あなたのちょっと見ていい？）
- I went to the shop so they could take a look at my car before the trip .
（旅の前にショップに寄ったから、スタッフが車の状態を確認してくれたよ。）
To take a taxi/bus/ subway – 交通機関に乗る
- My mom’s car broke down, so she had to take the bus to work today
（お母さんの車が壊れたから、今日彼女は職場までバスで行く必要があったんだ。）
- You can get to the airport either by taking the subway or a cab.
（空港まで地下鉄でもタクシーでもどっちでも行けるよ。）
To take a test -テストを受ける
- In order to apply to this school, you have to take a test first .
（この学校に出願するには、まずテストを受けなければならない。）
- Marianne is studying hard because she has to take an important test on November.
（マリアンヌは11月に重要な試験を受けなければいけないので、熱心に勉強をしている。）
To take a class – 授業を受講する
- I’m taking Spanish classes this semester to have a better chance at getting a job .
（いい仕事をゲットできるように、今季はスペイン語のクラスを受けてるよ。）
- If you want to improve your concentration, you should take yoga classes .
（もし集中力を高めたいなら、ヨガのクラスを受けるべきだよ。）
To take a rest – 休む
- I’ve worked for two years in a row, now I need my vacation to take a rest .
（２年間立て続けに仕事をしてきたから、今は休むために休暇が必要だ。）
- After an exhausting trip, the flight attendant had two days off to take a rest .
（過酷なフライトの後、そのキャビンアテンダントは体を休ませるために２日間の休暇を取った。）
To take a break – 作業を一旦停止して休憩する（To take a restと少し似ています）
- You’ve been studying all week, why don’t you take a break now?
（一週間ずっと勉強してるんだから、今は休んだらどう？）
- I’m hungry, let’s take a break and have some snacks?
（お腹すいたなあ、ちょっと手を止めてお菓子でも食べない？）
To take notes – ノートをとる、情報をメモする
- The decorator took notes of the living room measurements and dimensions.
（そのデコレーターは、リビングルームをの大きさや寸法などをノートに記録した。）
- If you don’t take notes in class, you’ll regret it later.
（授業でノートをしっかり取らないと、後で後悔するわよ。）
To take a picture – 写真を撮る
- Waiter, can you take a picture of our group, please?
（すみません、私達のグループ写真を撮っていただけませんか？）
- The photographer Robert Capa took pictures of the atrocities da guerra.
（写真家のロバート・キャパは、戦争の残虐性を写真に収めた。）
To take a chance – リスクを伴うことをする
- In the business world, it’s important to take a chance.
（ビジネスの世界では、リスクを取ることは重要なことである。）
- I wanted to try a new recipe for the dinner party, but I decided not to take any chances.
（ディナーパーティのために新しいレシピを試そうと思ったけど、リスクは侵さないように決めたわ。）
To take (x time) – 物事をするのにx時間かかる
- It took me three hours to get to the airport with traffic.
（渋滞の中空港に行くのに３時間かかったよ。）
- The cake takes thirty minutes to bake.
（ケーキを焼くのに30分かかります。）
