海外にでてからワイフィーはサムライ映画に魅力を感じるようになりました。
黒沢明監督の映画ももちろん大 好きです。
先日見た、SANJUROはユーモアに溢れていて楽しい映画でした。
海外で日本映画を特に昔の映画を見るとき、その映画館で日本人だけが英語の字幕では伝わらない台詞の奥深さを感じることができて少し優越感に浸ることができます。
一人で笑ったり、目頭を熱くしたりしています。
ただ今、アルと日本にいたときには見向きもしなかった日本映画の魅力にとり付かれています。このフィーバーは当分続きそうです。

Last night wifey and I went to see Sanjuro at the movie theatre, the second in the trilogy of Kurosawa movies about a ronin who wanders Japan picking up work as a tough guy, who sorts out the good from the bad. The lead character is a complicated man who has a deep sense of moral right and wrong. But at the same time he is rough, unclean drinks too much and is always asking for food and money. The first movie in this series is Yojimbo, which was later made into a Fist full of Dollars starring Clint Eastwood.
Sanjuro was much more comical than Yojimbo, with a greater range of characters and some pretty hilarious scenes.
But saying that, I think Yojimbo is a more telling movie and it is still my favorite Kurosawa movie alongside Seven Samurai.
Kurosawa movies are very popular in Australia. I was surprised to find out that many Japanese people haven't seen any of his movies. Surely he is one of the greatest directors of all time.
If you haven't already seen his movies, do yourself a favor and get them out on video!

Girls and guys both use phrases like "Oh my God!" or "Are you serious?" and "No way." "Bloody hell!" is also a good one but guys use this more than girls.
Of course it all depends on the situation and you certainly dont want to use the same one over and over so it is best to learn as many as possible. When you want to say something like ウソぉー you can say "Bullshit," or "that's just bullshit!" but its guys who use this a lot, so best not for special little ladies like you to use.

豪州ライフについて語りましょう。
日本食
私は一日一食はご飯を食べないと落ち着かない人です。
なので、こっちでの食生活はどうなることやらと不安な気持ちで渡豪してきました。
不安な気持ちはなんのその！
お米は安い！炊飯器も安い！
醤油も海苔もスーパーで手に入ります。
あちらこちらにある、日本系食材屋やアジア系食材屋に行けば、お味噌に梅干、鰹節と大概のものは揃います。
野菜は、ナスときゅうりが異様にでかいが、キャベツも白菜もスーパーで買うことができます。
一時期、必死に探したのが大根。中国系の八百屋さんで無事に発見！
葉もついて1.30ドル（120円前後）！安いじゃあないですかぁ。
ただいま、捜索中はごぼう。
日本では料理したことないけど、無性に金平ごぼうが食べたいよう。
日本食材捜索の旅は続く・・・です。

OK three points to cover today.
1) wifey is not really a word, but it is a nice nickname for you, but hubby (husband) is a real word and is used a lot.
2) As you will have noticed a lot of people say "Bloody hell", or "Bloody hot" or "Bloody terrible." People say "bloody hell" when they are really surprised or shocked or pissed off (angry). When you put bloody before an adjective it emphasizes that adjective. So bloody hot means extremely hot and a bloody terrible movie is a really bad movie. You can even say "this is bloody good" for food etc. But it is actually a kind of swear word so it's good enough just to understand it, you dont have to use it, although you can if you want.
3) As you will have heard, "shocker" is very different to "shocking/shocked." Shocker means really bad, like "that joke was a shocker," and people also use it like this:
Bazza (Barry): Did you see that movie last night on channel 7?
Dave (David): Yeah, what a shocker!
Bazza: It was bloody terrible, wasn't it?
Dave: I just wish they'd show some decent movies sometimes.
