O Fortuna
velut luna
statu variabilis,
O Fortune,
like the moon
you are changeable,

hateful life

poverty,
power,
it melts them like ice.
常に満ちては
常に欠ける
不快な世もつらいのは一時、
次には気まぐれに喜びを与え、人の心を弄ぶ
貧困も権勢も
氷のごとく溶かし去る

status malus,
vana salus

この詩中のーーーー
「corde pulsum tangite」の
tangiteと言う言葉は、
tangō(タンゴ）の２人称命令法現在で、tango(タンゴ）は１人称直接法現在。
「タンゴ」と言えば、即、思い浮かべるのは
ラテンアメリカの社交ダンス、アルゼンチンタンゴだが、
アルゼンチンタンゴは、アフリカ系アルゼンチン人、
アルゼンチンにおけるアフリカ系の家内労働用の奴隷として連れて来られた黒人によって
もたらされたダンスが起源とされる。
そもそもtangoの語源は、
アフリカで最も広域に使われるニジェール‐コンゴ語族
（スワヒリ語、ズールー語などはこの語族に含まれる)の言語、
イビビオ語のtamgu(＝“to dance”)
から来ていると言われる。
tangoとは、身体に張られた弦をかき鳴らすように、
魂を震わせ、踊ること・・人類の故郷、遥かなアフリカ大陸の「ダンス」なのだ!!
tangiteとは、「生命の弦をかき鳴らせ！生命のダンスを踊れ!!」
