Today’s image is sweet potato, called “DAIGAKU IMO” in Japan.
It means “university potato”. It sounds weird, does it?
I did not why it is called, so I searched.
We have some theories; we are not sure which is correct.
1) A university student made the recipe.
2) Someone made it, and many university students liked it and then it became popular.
It seems that it is involved with “university”.
That is an interesting story about sweet potatoes.

ところでなぜ大学芋というのか知っていますか？
ちょっと調べてみました。
所説あるようで、①大学生がレシピを作って流行った②大学生の間で食べられるようになって広まった。大学に関係しているようなので大学芋のようです。
