How was your holiday? Did you manage to reach your destination? Did your plans work out the way you’d expected? Or, did things go sideways at the last minute? My family and I ended up being in the latter group and had to think on our feet how to make the most of our free time. It turned out easier than you might think. Apart from myriads of restaurants, Tokyo has lots of parks and sightseeing spots. Our highlights included an unexpected visit to The Science Museum near Kudanshita (Can you guess what the first two photos show?), Summerland Water Adventure for a bit of splashy fun and a dinosaur thriller “Jurassic World” at Shinjuku’s Piccadilly Cinema. Regrettably we didn’t make it to Odaiba TeamLab light show this time but it still welcomes visitors until the end of August.
One thing was clear, however. COVID panic had lost its grip on the crowds of people searching for a good time during this year’s Obon.
