エペソ６章12節
私たちの格闘は血肉に対するものではなく、主権、力、この暗やみの世界の支配者たち、また、天にいるもろもろの悪霊に対するるものです。

For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
使徒26章
12）このようにして、私は祭司長たちから権限と委任を受けて、ダマスコへ出かけて行きますと、
13）その途中、正午ごろ、王よ、私は天からの光を見ました。それは太陽よりも明るく輝いて、私と同行者たちとの周りを照らしたのです。
14）私たちはみな地に倒れたが、そのとき声があって、ヘブル語で私にこう言うのが聞こえました。『サウロ、サウロ。なぜわたしを迫害するのか。とげのついて棒をけるのは、あなたにとって痛いことだ。』
15）私が『主よ。あなたはどなたですか。』と言いますと、主がこう言われました。『わたしは、あなたが迫害しているイエスである。
16）起き上がって、自分の足で立ちなさい。わたしがあなたに現われたのは、あなたが見たこと、また、これから後わたしが、あなたに現われて示そうとすることについて、あなたを奉仕者、また証人に任命するためである。
17）わたしは、この民と異邦人との中からあなたを救い出し、彼らのところに遣わす。
18）それは彼らの目を開いて、暗闇から光に、サタンの支配から神に立ち返らせ、わたしを信じる信仰によって、彼らに罪の赦しを得させ、聖なるものとされた人々の中にあって御国を受け継がせるためである。』
パウロはこのように幻の中で、はっきりとイエス様から主の奉仕者、証人となるように直接任命されていることから、確実に使徒であることが分かります。このことからも、使徒とは私達が勝手に指名できるものではなく、主なる神キリストからの直接の召しによるものであることが理解できます。
Acts 26 (NKJV)
12)While thus occupied, as I journeyed to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
13)At midday, O king, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me.
14)And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, 'Saul,Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.'
15)So I said, 'Who are You, Lord?' And He said, 'I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
16)But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things wich I will yet reveal to you.
17)I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you,
18)To open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.'
We know that Paul is definitely an apostle because he is clearly appointed directly by Jesus in the vision to be a servant and witness of the Lord. From this, we can understand that being an apostle is not something that we can appoint on anybody else, but it is a direct calling from the Lord God Christ.
