Angel of the Lord...

旧約聖書の中には、所々にイエス様と思しき記述があることに気がつきます。随分前にそのことに私が最初に気付いた箇所、それが創世記18章に記述されている、三人の御使いがアブラハムに現れたという部分です。三人の御使いの内の一人、それが新約時代前のイエス様だと信じます。

The first time I noticed this long ago, was when the three angels appeared before Abraham as described in Genesis chapter 18. Also I believe that one of the three angels was Jesus before appearing in the New Testament.

創世記18章

１）主はマムレの樫の木のそばで、アブラハムに現れた。彼は日の暑いころ、天幕の入り口にすわっていた。

２）彼が目を上げて見ると、三人の人が彼に向かって立っていた。彼は、見るなり、彼らを迎えるために天幕の入り口から走って行き、地にひれ伏して礼をした。

３）そして言った。「ご主人（主よ）。お気に召すなら、どうか、あなたのしもべのところを素通りなさらないでください。

Genesis 18

1)The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the day.

2)Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.

3)He said, "If I have found favour in your eyes, my lord(O Lord), do not pass your servant by.

９）彼らはアブラハムに訪ねた。「あなたの妻サラはどこにいますか。」それで「天幕の中にいます。」と答えた。

10）するとひとり(主）が言った。「わたしは来年の今ごろ、必ずあなたのところに戻って来ます。そのとき、あなたの妻サラには、男の子ができている。」サラはその人のうしろの天幕の入り口で、聞いていた。

9)"Where is your wife Sarah?"they asked him. "There, in the tent,"he said.

10)Then the LORD said, "I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son."

16）その人たちは、そこを立ってソドムを見おろす方へ上って行った。アブラハムも彼らを見送るために、彼らといっしょに歩いていた。

17）主はこう考えられた。「わたしがしようとしていることを、アブラハムに隠しておくべきだろうか。

18）アブラハムは必ず大いなる強い国民となり、地のすべての国々は、彼によって祝福される。

19）わたしが彼を選び出したのは、彼がその子らと、彼の後の家族とに命じて主の道を守らせ、正義と公正とを行なわせるため、主が、アブラハムについて約束したことを、彼の上に成就するためである。」

20）そこで主は仰せられた。「ソドムとゴモラの叫びは非常に大きく、また彼らの罪はきわめて重い。

21）わたしは下って行って、わたしに届いた叫びどおりに、彼らが実際に行なっているかを見よう。わたしは知りたいのだ。」

22）その人たちはそこからソドムのほうへと進んで行った。アブラハムはまだ、主の前に立っていた。

16)When the men got up to leave, they looked down towards Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way.

17)Then the LORD said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?

18)Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.

19)For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him."

20)Then the LORD said, "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so grievous

21)that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know."

22)The men turned away and went towards Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the LORD.

そして、イエス様がアブラハムについて語られている箇所があるので載せておきます。

And there are passages where Jesus speaks about Abraham.

ヨハネ８章

56）あなたがたの父アブラハムは、わたしの日を見ることを思って大いに喜びました。彼はそれを見て、喜んだのです。」

57）そこで、ユダヤ人たちはイエスに向かって言った。「あなたはまだ五十歳になっていないのにアブラハムを見たのですか。」

58）イエスは彼らに言われた。「まことに、まことに、あなたがたに告げます。アブラハムが生まれる前から、わたしはいるのです。」

John 8

56)Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad."

57)"You are not yet fifty years old," the Jews said to him, "and you have seen Abraham!"

58)"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"
