better than you may think

i recently bought some stuff at uniqlo online store , and actually some of the stuff would be better than you might think.

最近、ユニクロのオンライン・ストア で何点か購入。商品の中には結構侮れないものとかありますよ。

i was looking for a pair of white sneakers, and i happened to found them. very simple shape, yet punching on the material gives the accent.

白いスニーカーを探していたんですが、偶然にもこんなのを発見。とてもシンプルな形ながらも、パンチングが良いアクセントになっています。

since i have lost some weights, most of the pants i have became kind of big for me. so, here they are. sinple shape and perfect size for me! i remember when i was a high school student, jeans were like 5,900yen (average) and only levi's jeans were from 6,900 to 8,900yen. but now, i see a lot of jeans priced over 20,000yen.....

体重が落ちたために持っているパンツのほとんどがブカブカな状態に。と言うわけでジーンズも購入。シンプルなシェイプ、そしてパーフェクトなサイズ！ 高校生の頃、ジーンズって大体が（平均で）5,900円、でリーバイスだけが6,900～8,900円だったんですよね～。それが今では20,000円超のジーンズなんていうのも目にするように・・・。

yaki-monaka 2

so, this is the yaki-monaka (bite-size)i talked about the other day. from the front to the end rows: green tea, plain (?? what do you mean by "plane?") and sesame seeds. i was right to put 'em in the fridge. my wife added a scoup of green tea ice cream on top, and it tasted much better!

と言うわけで、これが先日話していた焼もなか（一口サイズ）です。最前列から最後列の並びで抹茶、プレーン（??　「プレーン」とは？）、そしてごまの種。冷蔵庫に入れておいたのは正解だったようです。で、うちの奥さんが抹茶アイス一さじをトッピングしたんですが、これが美味かった！

good ol' japanese dessert

this is traditional japanese dessert called "mitsu-mame," and we usually eat during the summer time. mitsu means syrup and mame means beans. half-white/half-clear cube stuff and orange cube stuff are called "kanten" and made from the extract of algae!! the only missing thing in this mitsu-mame is the shiratama-dango, which is mochi made from ground rice powder.

i guess because i live in rather mess environment, i get pulled towards minimal / simple stuff. but if i were living in minimal / simple environment, then i will look for decorative stuff. to finish it off, i think i want something that i don't have like asking for the moon..... but to put it better, i always pursue something..., right?

どちらかと言えばごちゃごちゃとした環境に住んでいるせいでしょうか、ミニマル／シンプルなものに引き寄せられます。でも、ミニマル／シンプルな環境に住んでいたとしたら、今度はデコラティブなものを求めるようになるでしょう。つまりは、無い物ねだりということになるんでしょうか・・・。でもよく言えば、常に何かを追求しているということ、ですよね？

anyway, i find the following decks quite minimal.

yaki-monaka

finished eating the half of it in seconds. i think it would be better to put them in the fridge and cool them before you eat. by the way, i just remembered that when ridged potato chips came out long time ago, i put the bag in the freezer and ate in cold, and that was the popular way to eat the chips. well, probably it was popular just around me.....

あっという間に半分を食べてしまいました。食べる前に冷蔵庫に入れて冷やした方が好きかも。そう言えば、その昔にギザギザのポテト・チップスが出てきたとき、まずは冷凍庫に入れて冷え冷えにしてから食べるのが流行っていたことを思い出しました。と言っても、流行っていたのは自分の周りだけだったかも・・・。

pop headphones!

amazingly pop-colored headphones (the pic is from takeshi-san's blog ). i've never seen the ones like this. how nice and cool! it seems like they can be folded to compact size which is good for dj's. they remind me of simpson's .

素晴らしいくらいにポップな色合いのヘッドフォン（画像は武士さんのブログ から）。こんなの見たことありません。いいですね～。折り畳めるようなのでDJフレンドリーな感じも○。シンプソンズ を連想させてくれます。

i could never get away with blk/wht

even though, i mentioned about wearing colors the other day, i am still obsessed with black and white colorway, as my attention always goes to black and white. my wife goes..., "oh, another black and white?"

先日、服装の色 について触れたにもかかわらず、注意が向くのはどうしても黒白。うちの奥さんは「また黒白？」などと・・・。
