On my return home last Sunday, I found the the pink frangipani branch was not its bright happy self. The flowers were beginning to die along with the leaves. Time to plant it. It was Mika's suggestion. She noticed that there were shoots beginning to form and felt that it wanted to be in the ground. Mika pointed out a good place in my back yard for it to be planted. It has been planted among ginger plants with orange flowers and other tropical plants. Hopefully it likes where its new home and the little shoots will be nourished and it will begin to grow.
In the scriptures, 1st Corinthians 3:6, Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ writes that he plants the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. This verse is referring to the a letter that Paul wrote to the church of Corinth, who were young in their faith and struggling in the nurture and growth of their spiritual lives. The word of God being planted in us, is vital for growth and furthermore, we need to be watered with Gods word of truth. Ultimately God then causes the understanding, knowledge and wisdom of that truth to become grafted in to our lives. The soil of our hearts, needs to be prepared, fertilised and watered when we meet together with other believers, through prayer, reading our bibles and the teaching of sound doctrine. The little seed then, has every chance to germinate and begin to grow through the internal working of Gods Holy Spirit, so that we may mature and complete, not lacking anything.
A nice analogy for my frangipani plant, which reminds me I better go and water it.
