先日、底に富士山が見えるグラスをいただいたんです。
でも、いつもの家呑み金麦を注ぐんじゃ
ちょっとあんまりなので
なかなか使う機会が無かったんです。
で、フォアローゼズを買ってきました。
たまにはバーボンも良いもんです。
バーボンのボトルを抱いて、
夜更けの窓に立ちたくなりますね。
夜というのに派手なレコードかけて
朝までふざけたくなりませんか？

邦楽じゃ、趣味の和訳、、、にはなりませんので、
こんな曲を選んでみました。
トム・ウェイツの「ジョッキー・フル・オブ・バーボン」です。
1986年のトム・ウェイツ初主演映画、
「ダウン・バイ・ロー」のオープニング曲にもなりました。
ジム・ジャームッシュの映画の中で、
この映画が一番好きです。
ニューオーリンズの街中を車で流す白黒の映像に
このスリリングで怪しげな曲に一発でヤラれました。(笑)
ストーリーも面白くて、
もう何度観たか覚えていません。(笑)

で、和訳なんですが、、、んんー難しかったです。。。
いちいち、これって誰なの？とか
これは何か深い意味のある熟語なの？とか
なかなか前に進めません。(笑)
そんな意味深な言葉ばかりです。(笑)
タイトルを訳せば、
「バーボンを目いっぱい飲んだ運転手」
って感じでしょうか。
でも、運転している描写は無いから
飲酒運転はしていないようですね。(笑)
歌詞の1行目の「Edna Million」は、
実在した有名な娼婦だそうです。
なので、酔っぱらい男と女の歌、、、
ってことは間違いないようです。(笑)
