Normal day in Ishinomaki..

Yeah, every morning from the heart in the sky..

でも15年前…
これは宮城の人々の心に残る物語です。

But 15 years ago..

This is the story that remains in Miyagi people's heart..

オリンピック代表選考会の時、私はタイでの高校生でした。
ニュースでこのことが取り上げられていた時、このニュースを知りました。

I was high school in Thailand during Olympiad selection round.

I heard the news when all news showed about this..

宮城と東北を永遠に変えたあの時。
東日本大震災がこの地域を揺るがしました。

The time that changed Miyagi and Tohoku forever..

East Japan Great Earthquake shook the region..

15年前、自分がそこにいられる日が来るなんて思ってもいませんでした。
でも今日、それが私の目の前で、足を通して起こっているのです。

15 years ago, I didn't think someday I would be there..

But today it happens in front of my eyes through my foot.

最も多かったの死者は宮城県です。
そのうち、石巻市で最も多く、福島県全体と同数です。
岩手県全体の60%を占めています。

Most casualties were Miyagi.

Ishinomaki City itself were the most one..

Equals to all Fukushima prefecture..

60% of all in Iwate prefecture..

4.8mの津波を思い出すためにポールに印をつけました。

Tsunami with 4.8 m was marked as pole to remember what it was..

工場の1分前のサイレンが石巻の停止時間を知らせてくれました。
それを学んで、その時間を暗記しました。

1 minute siren at the factory remarked the time when Ishinomaki stopped..

I learned it and memorized that time..

みんなに起こったこと…
石巻のタイ料理店だけでも…

It happened to all..

Even only Thai restaurant in Ishinomaki..

宮城県で2番目に大きな都市であり、現在も2番目に大きい都市です。

It remarks everyday every minute to not forget it..

Th second largest city in Miyagi prefecture that remained the second until now..

今日、ここ石巻では、
心を満たす風景になります。

Today, here in Ishinomaki,
It becomes landscape that fulfill hearts.

多くの人がそれぞれの方法で思い出していますが、
誰も言及していなくても、私たちは記憶に残っています。

Although many people remember on their own way, 
We remain the memory even everyone hasn't mentioned about it.

私たちの記録、メモ、文章は、
水に消え去りました…
誰もそれについて語っていません…

Our record, memo, writing,
Has been wiped out through the water..
Even no one has spoken about it..

でも、これは常に生き続けるための印なのです。
誰が負けたかを忘れないための印です。
より強い日を示す印です。
より良い未来を築くための印です。

But this is the mark to remind to keep always alive.
The mark not to forget who has lost.
The mark to show the stronger day.
The mark to make the better future.

今こそ、それを行うのにふさわしい時と場所なのです。
しかし、記憶と傷は石巻に残っています。
有名になるのではなく、ただ地元のリズムを保ち続けるためです。

Today, it is the beautiful time and place for it. 
But the memory and hurt remains in Ishinomaki. 
Not to be famous for it, just to keep the rhythm local.

東日本大震災で最も大きな被害を受けた石巻市。。。

Ishinomaki City, the most affected city during East Japan Great Earthquake..
 

天皇皇后両陛下が石巻市をご訪問されるのは、1992年以来となります。
また、上皇さまが石巻市をご訪問されるのは10年ぶりとなります。

The emperor, empress, and princess will visit Ishinomaki City again since 1992.
And it is 10 years since the emperor emeritus has visited Ishinomaki City.
 

石巻は、いつの時代も強い心を持ち続ける、活気あふれる街です。
石巻は、諦めない人々の心の物語です。

Ishinomaki is always the lifely town that remains the strong heart.
Ishinomaki is the stories on the spirit of people for not giving up.
