■ blunt
「ぶしつけな」、「無遠慮な」という意味で、次のような例文が挙げられていました。
He told her quite bluntly that his latest report was unacceptable.
また、not to put too fine a point on it(率直に言えば：to state something bluntly)という表現もあります。
■ get wind of
「･･･を聞きつける」という意味で、ofの後ろには、「噂」や「秘密」等を意味する言葉が入ります。
■ take offence
「感情を害する」という意味です。
■ civilized
「礼儀正しい」という意味で、courteousやreasonableと同義です。
■ rational and open-minded
「理性的で心の広い」という意味です。
keep an open mindとかhave an open mindと（心の広さを保つ）いう表現もあります。
It is important to have an open mind when traveling overseas.
■ be on the same page
「同じ考えを持っている」という意味で、everyone is thinking the same wayということです。
次のような例文が挙げられていました。
Most economists are on the same page about the nation's prospects.
なお、以下のような関連表現もあります。
We all read from the same page.(考えを統一する)
We are all on the same wavelength.（波長が合う）
■ familiar surroundings
「慣れ親しんだ環境」という意味です。
