実践ビジネス英語 Lesson2 Vertical Farming（垂直農法）の第2回目です。
■ rotate
「回転する」という意味ですが、日本語にもなっているjob rotationのように、take turnsという意味もあります。
Our staff rotate between departments every two years or so.
■ exposure to the sun
「太陽にされされて（太陽光を浴びて）」という意味です。subject to some action, influence or conditionと説明されていました。次のような例文が挙げられていました。
It's important to expose children to books from an early age.
■ impact on
「･･･に（悪い）影響を与える」という意味で、次のような例文が挙げられていました。
Write-offs of bad loans impacted on the bottom line.
inpact onのようなphrasal verbとしての用法は、business jargonとして嫌う人も多く、 通常の用法は、have [ make ] an impact onとなるようです。
■ be composted and recycled
「堆肥にして再生利用される」という意味です。
■ take farming to the next level
「農業を次の段階に持っていく」という意味で、make something bigger, better, more advanced in some wayと説明されていました。 take something to the next levelといえば、「何かを改良・改善する」という意味になります。
■ no fewer than
「少なくとも」という意味で、this large striking numberという意味です。
次のような例文が挙げられていました。
She traveled to no fewer than ten countries on business last year.
