■ way too much time and energey
wayは副詞で、「非常に」とか「はるかに」という意味で使われています。
■ be better devoted to
be better spent onとも言います。「～に費やした方が良かった」という意味です。
例文として、以下のようなものが挙げられていました。
Her energy would be better spent on improving her own performance instead of criticizing others.
■ take advantage of
take advantage of：「～を利用する」という意味で、exploit something in an unethical wayというnegativeな意味もありますが、必ずしnegativeな意味だけに用いられることはないと説明されていました。
例文としては以下のようなものが挙げられていました。
He took advantage of the low interest rates to buy a condominium.
■ stretch oneself too thin
「手を広げすぎる」という意味で、stretchの代わりにspreadを用いることができると説明されていました。
■ take on too many things at once
上記と似た意味合いですが、「一度に多くのことを引き受けすぎる」という意味です。
■ filip side
対照的な面、裏面という意味です。on the filip side（逆に）という頻出表現があります。
