interested と interestingは、どちらを使ったらいいかよく迷う単語の一つです。
一般的に動詞が -ed, -ing の語尾が付き、形容詞となったときには、 -ed で終わる場合は、感情や状態をあらわし、-ing で終わる場合は人や物の特徴を表します。
interestedは、「興味を持っている」という形容詞ですので、「興味を持っている～」という意味になります。
人がなにかに興味を持っている場合には、interested を使います。このような場合、基本的に主語は「人」になります。
▸ I am interested in baseball.
私は野球に興味を持っています
名詞（人）を修飾して、なにかに興味を持っている人を表す場合にも interested を使います。
▸ the interested people
興味を持っている人達
▸ the people interested in ~
~に興味の持っている人達
interestingは、「興味深い/おもしろい」という意味の形容詞ですので「興味深い～」という意味になります。
なにか興味深い／おもしろい出来事を示すときには、interesting を使います。このような場合、主語は「物」になることが多いです。
▸ The comic is interesting.
その漫画はおもしろい
主語に「人」が来ることもあります。この場合は主語の人自身が、「興味深い人」、「おもしろい人」という意味となります。
▸ He is interesting.
彼はおもしろい人だ
名詞（人や物）を修飾して、なにか興味深いものだと示す場合にも interesting を使います。
