今日からプロレス観戦記が復帰します！よろしくお願いいたします。

とにかく、2月29日は新宿FACEにて「大鷲透デビュー20.21.22.23周年記念興行・ルチャンコ・スペシャル」を観に行って来ました！期待通り、凄く楽しい時間を過ごしました！とても楽しかったので、未だにこの大会のことを思い出す。プロレスファンの皆さんにとって、この大会は本当に見る価値があるから、大鷲グッズセンターでDVDを購入してくださいね！本当に必見です！

A few months back, I went to see Luchanko Special at Shinjuku FACE, and I had such a great time! I still think about this show sometimes, because it had such a big impact on me. Also, it's currently availalble on DVD on Toru Owashi's online store, and I feel like this is a show that's worth having a copy of. Toru Owashi's self-produced shows are always a showcase of incredible booking skills and great times to be had! Even with the various card changes that had to be made this time around, or possibly as a result of those card changes, Owashi brought us yet another amazing show! I absolutely recommend checking out some of his previous Luchanko-branded shows if you can, but if you can't, you shouldn't miss out on this one!

とても良いオープニングマッチでした！「やまいきの絆」でいいチームワークを見せた。本当に良かった！

A fun and enjoyable tag match to start off the show! Named "Bonds of Affliction", this match brought together four wrestlers from different promotions who had overcome various injuries in the past year or so. Everyone worked together so well!

（ところで、この大会には動画撮影はOKだった！良かったね！）

日本語では言葉がよく出てこないですが。。。やっぱり、予想された通りに楽しかったｗｗ

とても良い写真を撮れたから、嬉しかった！（斉藤ジュン選手が大好きだから、沢山写真を撮ったけど、ちょっと怖い写真もあったね。。。！）

This is one of those matches that you kinda have to mentally prepare yourself for, but the audience absolutely LOVED it, and I had a great time seeing this live!

Jun Saito and Rei Saito were originally going to have a tag match against the Brahman Brothers on this show, which was very highly anticipated because having two sets of twins fighting each other is a brilliant idea! Sadly, Rei Saito was unable to take part due to his shoulder injury, so the Brahman Brothers were set to take on Yuma and Atsuki Aoyagi (which I'll talk more about later), and Jun Saito ended up in this match.

You know when you see a match announcement, and you immediately have a good idea of what's going to happen?

Well, that's pretty much what happened here, and frankly, it was GLORIOUS. Jun Saito, being far and away the most handsome man on his team, was always going to be the target of the opposing team's... affection? "Affection" seems like the wrong word here, but Jun was VERY popular with those guys, and with Mascara Gaylera Jr. in particular, who planted a huge kiss on Jun during the match, which got an amazing reaction from everyone in the audience, ranging from screams of terror to screams of happiness (I think I let out a yell of pure jealousy tbh). Okamakoto, everyone's favourite sleep paralysis demon, also gave a very memorable performance. For the most part, Osugi, Senga, Honda and Hirata seemed to take a back seat, while Jun Saito took various other things during this match, but the anticipation of whatever crazy stuff was going to happen next made this a really fun match to watch!

この試合を観るのが楽しかったね！

Even without a detailed knowledge of the history of Toryumon or DRAGONGATE, this was a really enjoyable match where all the pieces fell into place really well! (To be honest, this could be said about any match on this show. Everything just seemed to Work, y'know? Gotta love it when that happens!)

CDK won a year's supply of some kind of scalp treatment that's supposed to promote hair growth. However, as Brookes and Takanashi have no problems growing their own hair, they very generously gave the prize to Genki Horiguchi, who was so happy about it that he did a certain dance that everyone likes!

カードが変更されたけど、本当に凄い試合になったね！

This match was originally going to be Jun Saito and Rei Saito vs. Brahman Shu and Brahman Kei, but Rei Saito got injured. Then, it was going to be Yuma Aoyagi and Atsuki Aoyagi vs. Brahman Shu and Brahman Kei, but Atsuki Aoyagi got injured. Toru Owashi was in a pinch. He'd wanted a Brothers vs. Brothers tag match on his show, but he'd run out of brothers he could book. The next best thing he could do was book someone with a name starting with "A" to be Yuma Aoyagi's partner. So, he checked his contacts list, and he found just the right person for the job!

In the run up to the show, Aoyagi's partner was only announced as X. Little did we know that Yuma Aoyagi's partner was going to be AJA KONG!!

This match had all the craziness you'd expect from a Brahman Brothers match, including their infamous bowling spot, and again, everything worked so well! I absolutely loved how well Yuma Aoyagi and Aja Kong worked so well as a team. Owashi really is a genius booker. Sometimes, wonderful things happen as a result of a seemingly desperate situation, and Owashi responded to the changes he had to make to his show in the best possible way! He really showed a lot of creativity in the face of a crisis, and he made an already great show even more special.

Afterwards, Jun and Rei Saito made an appearance, and promised that the Saito Brothers vs. the Brahman Brothers would definitely happen some day...!

凄いメインイベントでした！闘龍門の歴史に詳しくないですけど、この試合を観て、もっと知りたくなってきました！

Owashi's main events always have some kind of special meaning to him, and this always shines through regardless of your knowledge of his history. My knowledge of Toryumon is patchy at best, but seeing matches like this really makes me want to know more!

全試合終了後、大鷲選手は色々な発表しました。

先ず、大鷲選手がプロレス専業期間を“あと１年”と発表しました。そして、ＤＲＡＧＯＮＧＡＴＥレギュラー参戦を熱望して、斎藤了ＧＭが了承しました。

At the end of the show, Owashi had a few important announcements to make...

First of all, although he definitely isn't considering fully retiring for the time being, he plans to wrestle regularly for just one more year.

Then, he made a special request to DRAGONGATE GM, Ryo Saito, that he wanted to participate regularly in DRAGONGATE, alongside his usual appearances in DDT. Saito approved of Owashi's request!

もちろん、いつも通り大鷲選手のお母さんがリングに上がって、素晴らしい演説をしました！

As per tradition, Owashi's mum turned up and gave a speech about how proud she is of her son!

最後の発表は。。。

2025年、大鷲透尿管結石15周年記念興行「ルチャンコ・パーティー」が開催決定！！凄く楽しみにしてます！

One final announcement came at the end of the show... in 2025, a show called Luchanko Party will be held to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Toru Owashi's kidney stones! (Seriously, that's what it says, I double checked and everything)

素晴らしかった！変態パンチドランカーズが2度目の防衛に失敗するのが予想しなかったが、勝村選手と和田選手のチームワークは強すぎた！

An excellent match! I wasn't expecting Sato and Maeguchi to lose the belts on their second defence, but Katsumura and Wada's teamwork is a tough obstacle to overcome!

Isami defeated Watase (17mins 30s, Isami Ashi Zan).

Watase failed his fifth title defence, and Isami became the fifth champion.

私はイサミ選手の大ファンですが、この試合を観た時、「これは渡瀬選手にとって物凄くずるいよ～！」と思っていた。しかし、振り返すと、それは違うと思っていた。実は、こういう結果は本当にガンプロらしいです。実生活と同じく、頑張るしかないですね。ガンプロの全試合には、選手の皆さんはいつも一生懸命頑張っている。それは本当に大切なものです。

ガンプロの魂は美しい。

As much as I love Isami Kodaka, my initial reaction to him beating Mizuki Watase to become the new SOG World Openweight Champion was, admittedly, something along the lines of, "Wow, this is some hot buttered bullshit right here". I was BIG MAD. This was Watase's chance to prove himself on a big stage, and for him to lose the top belt in GanPro to an outsider seemed unfair, to say the least.

However, after I'd thought about it for a while, I stopped being disappointed about it, because it made perfect sense in the context of GanPro. In Ganbare Pro-Wrestling, as their name suggests, you've just got to keep trying your best, no matter what.

Mizuki Watase is, without a doubt, a very talented wrestler. Isami Kodaka, an incredibly versatile veteran wrestler, was an excellent opponent for him; someone who Watase could feasibly defeat, but who also presented a very real threat to his championship. This was never going to be an easy win for either of them, and they both put everything they had into this match. Towards the end of the match, you could see Watase losing stamina, but never losing his will to fight. He kept getting back up, over and over again, until every last ounce of strength had been drained from him. Isami may have won the championship, but Watase made him earn it. After the match, when Isami had left after saying a few words about becoming the new champion, Watase, through tears, expressed regrets about losing the championship. Then, following a heartwarming and encouraging speech by Katsumura, Watase stood up, and declared that he would be the champion again someday.

The show ended with a smiling Watase surrounded by his GanPro family.

This is the stuff GanPro is made of. And it's beautiful.

GanPro's big shows are an amazing showcase for all of their roster, as well as the driving force behind GanPro itself; the effort that is put into the match is as important as the result. The effort, the desperation, the struggle, the TRYING to win is an incredibly valuable and precious thing, and it's something that sets GanPro apart from its peers. GanPro's members lost a lot of matches to outsiders in this show, but seeing how much everyone wants to win, and the lengths they are prepared to go to in order to do so, adds an extra layer of emotion to every match that you don't always see in other promotions.

I went to see WRESTLE SEKIGAHARA II! (1/2)

ガンバレ☆プロレスは3月いっぱいでCyberFight傘下から独立しました。

At the end of March, Ganbare☆Pro-Wrestling became independent from the CyberFight group.

4月から新たな体制で活動している！

今日から私のプロレス観戦ブログを再開して、大好きなガンプロに関して記事を書きたいと思っていたので、今回は去年7月の「WRESTLE SEKIGAHARA II」について記事を書きました。よろしくお願いします！🙏

As I'm restarting my pro-wrestling viewing blog from today, I wanted to write about GanPro because I like them so much! So, I wrote about last July's "WRESTLE SEKIGAHARA II」. Hope you enjoy it!

今日からプロレス観戦ブログが復帰します！

「ドラマチックなドリームを持つ者」という本を書きましたが、ブログ記事を書く時間がなかったから、一年間ぐらいブログ活動を休止しました。。。

しかし、その本を書き終わったから、またブログを書きたいと思います！観戦記を書くのが本当に久しぶりだけど、頑張ります！

とにかく、7月9日に「WRESTLE SEKIGAHARA Ⅱ」を観に行って来ました！本当に立派な興行だから、これでブログ活動再開したいと思ってました！最初から最後まで凄い試合があって、ペースが良かったから、とても良い時間を過ごした！絶対に必見です！

Sorry I kept you waiting!

My blog was on hiatus while I was writing "Dramatic Dreams and Those Who Have Them", a history of DDT and the KO-D Openweight Championship, the DDT EXTREME Championship, and the Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship.

It's been a long time since I wrote a show report, but I'll try my best! (As usual, Ameba can't handle the borderline unhealthy number of photos I took at this show, so I'll write about the semifinal and main event in Part 2!)

Anyway, back in July 2023, I went to see WRESTLE SEKIGAHARA II, and I just had to restart my blog with this show because it was one of the best shows I saw last year! A seriously well-paced show with satisfying matches from start to finish. Every match in this show just made sense in terms of wrestler and storyline development, and it's definitely something you should go out of your way to watch if you haven't seen it already! (And if you have already seen it, it's absolutely worth a rewatch!)

今回の席は去年と同じく「豪華特典付きガンバレ☆シート」でした。今年は今成選手と一緒に「POISON」の入場体験をしました！去年は大家選手と一緒に「BAD COMMUNICATION」の入場体験をしましたが、リングに上がった時にロープにつまずいて、転んだ。。。

プロレスラーと一緒に入場するのが特別な経験だから、こういう機会があって嬉しかった！来年のWRESTLE SEKIGAHARAもやってみたいと思います！

My seat for the show was a "Ganbare☆Seat with a Luxurious Special Perk", which this year was a chance to do Yumehito Imanari's "POISON" entrance with him! I did something similar in 2022 with Ken Ohka, when I did his "BAD COMMUNICATION" entrance and dance with him, except this year, I didn't fall arse over tit on my way into the ring. It's a very fun and special experience to be able to join a wrestler during their entrance scene, and I'm really happy that GanPro has offered this for both of their big shows at Ota-ku! I really hope they continue to do something like this for future big shows, because it's a unique experience that's totally worth the extra expense.

Takanashi defeated Nakamura (8mins 38s, Hangover!!).

中村選手は2022年12月にデビューしましたが、この試合にはとても才能があって、潜在能力を持っていると知りました。ベテランの高梨選手との凄くイイ試合を見せた！今回、高梨選手を超えることが出来なかったけど、本当に勝てるようになると思っていた！

非常に良いオープニングマッチでした。

Although Nakamura only made his debut in December 2022, he has already shown a huge amount of talent and potential that is rare to see in someone who, at the time of this match, only had around seven months of in-ring experience. As a result, he became a decent challenge for the veteran Takanashi, and although he ended up losing, he had us all believing that victory wasn't far away. An extremely good opening match!

この試合を見て、YuuRI選手はガンプロ所属してからとても進歩したことが分かった！もちろん、この試合には凄い選手が沢山あったけど、YuuRI選手の気合いを見て、本当に感動しました。凄かった！

A match which really showcased just how far YuuRI had come since signing with GanPro. A match packed with so many talented wrestlers really couldn't help being anything but great, but YuuRI's persistence and spirit added an extra layer of emotion which made an already great match even better.

リアラ×　vs　ウナギ・サヤカ○

Riara vs. Sayaka Unagi

Unagi defeated Riara (6mins 8s, Sliding U).

短い試合でしたが、リアラ選手にはイイ経験になった！リアラ選手は2023年5月にデビューしました。二ヶ月後にこんなに強い対戦相手がいて、本当に特別な試合でした。これからももっともっと強くなれると思います！

試合の後、ウナギ選手は「渡瀬、今日防衛したら次の挑戦者はウナギ・サヤカだ」と宣言した！

Short but sweet, and a good experience for Riara! Riara debuted in May last year, and going one-on-one against such a strong opponent so early in her wrestling career was a very special thing. I'm sure Riara can become even stronger in the future!

After the match, Unagi had a message for SOG Openweight Champion, Mizuki Watase... "Watase, if you succeed in your title defence today, your next challenger is Sayaka Unagi"!

これも凄くイイ試合でした！よっぴーは負けましたが、一生懸命頑張った！本当に感激した！

Another great singles match! Although Yoppy's defeat meant another loss for GanPro, the sheer effort she put into this match showed just how far she'd come since joining GanPro in 2022. She did well against such a strong opponent!

チームドリフの再会！解散して何数年が経ったけど、凄くイイチームワークをして、今でもチームドリフの試合を観るのが楽しいです。またいつかチームドリフの試合を見たいと思います！

Team Dream Futures reunion! Even though it's been several years since they split up, their teamwork is still off the charts, and it makes them a real pleasure to watch. Akito, Shota and Tominaga work quite well together, but Team Dream Futures worked together like it was second nature to them, and no matter how good they are as individuals, teamwork is absolutely vital in multi-man tag matches. Newer DDT fans who haven't seen much of Team Dream Futures really should seek out and watch as many of their matches as possible, because the amazing way they worked together back then was back in full force in this match. Hopefully, we'll get more opportunities to see Ishii, Irie and Takao working together again in the future.
