steal the electionは、「その選挙を盗む」と字面だけ解釈することができますが、その一方でwin the election by using dishonest meansとパラフレーズでき、「その選挙を不正な手段を使うことによって選挙に勝利する」と表現することもできるので、この簡潔な表現のほうが好まれて、マスコミによってその誤った表現が広まっているだけです。そもそも選挙は「盗む」事はできないのです。winが「勝利を収める」という意味と、「獲得する」という意味の両方を持ちうることを効果的に使っている表現です。

この文の構造は簡単です。
「彼はその後に、性的暴行の責任があるとされてきている」。

この文の構造は簡単です。
「共和党は本当に彼を再び指名するつもりでいるのであろうか」。
この文はそれ自体が疑問文となって疑問を喚起し、さらになぜそのような答えであると言えるのかという疑問も喚起し、それらの疑問をその後の議論展開によって解消していることが確認できるので、topic sentenceであると判断することができます。
ここで第2パラグラフは終了です。このパラグラフは、第1文から第5文がtransition sentencesで、第6文がtopic sentenceであると判断することができます。このパラグラフには対応するsupport部分が一切含まれていないために、supportの役割を果たすパラグラフが2つ以上後続する構造が予想されます。
