新学期が始まってから、集団登校で、
F君の歩くスピードが遅くなった。どうも
学校が面白くないらしい。
「友達とケンカでもしたんか？」
「勉強が難しいんか？」と話かけような
ものなら、また一段と、歩くスピードが
遅くなる。←いらんことゆうて、ごめん
やで。
そんなF君と列の一番後ろを一緒に
歩いていると、危うく犬のウンコを
踏みそうになった。そこで、犬の
ウンコを始末せんような大人はあかん
よなという話の流れから、鳩のヒナを
生きたまま捨てるような大人もおるん
やで。そいつはもっと最低な奴やと
いう話をした。
黒いビニール袋が、うちの近所に捨て
られていた。中に何が入っているかは
見えない。誰かが放置したゴミだと
思って捨てようとしたら、中から鳥の
鳴き声がした。鳩のヒナであった。
正直、可愛いといえる姿でなかった。
炎天下に放置されていたから、発見
しなかったら、自然に息絶えていた
と思う。捨てた奴は、自分でどうし
ようもできなくて、放置して死んで
しまえばいいと思ったんやろうな。
どんなエサを、どうやって与えれば
いいのかわかれへんかったけど、
なんとか神社に放鳥できるくらいまで
育ってくれた。
Ｆ君には、注射器でエサを与えたこと
や、鳥にはエサ袋があって、お腹いっぱい
かどうかはそこを見て判断すること、
ヒナは食べ過ぎてもお腹痛いとか言われ
へんから、与える量に気をつけなあかん
等々、色々話をして聞かせたら、いつの
間にか、学校に到着した。鳩の話に夢中に
なって、Ｆ君の歩くスピードがアップして
いた。
少し元気のないＦ君、見守ることしかでき
へんけど、うまくいくよう祈ってるで。
Since the start of the new term, F-kun's
walking speed has slowed down when
he goes to school in a group. He seems

As I was walking with F-kun at the
back of the line, we almost stepped in
dog poop. As we started talking about
how adults who do not take care of
dog (their pets) poop are no good.
Then I told F-kun that there was an
adult who threw away pigeon chicks
while they were still alive, and the adult
was even worse.
A black plastic bag was dumped in my
neighborhood. I could not see what was
inside. I was about to throw it away,
thinking it was garbage someone had
left behind, when I heard a bird cooing
from inside. It was a pigeon chick.
It was not a very cute-looking bird.
They had been left out in the hot sun,
and if I hadn't found them, they would
have died naturally. The person who
abandoned them must have thought
that since he couldn't do anything,
he should just leave them to die.
I didn't know what kind of food to feed
them or how to feed them, but they
managed to grow up to the point where
I could release them into the shrine.
I told F-kun about feeding the birds
with a syringe, that they have feed
pouches and that you can tell if they are
full by looking at them, that chicks can't
tell you stomachaches if you feed them
too much, and that you have to be
careful how much you feed them, etc.
We arrived at the school before we knew
it, and F-kun's walking speed had
increased as he became engrossed in
talking about pigeons.
I can only watch over him, but I wish
him all the best.
