Today, I took the English Proficiency Test (EIKEN) for the fourth time,
knowing that I would have to face the same pain of failure as I did
last time.
I am embarrassed to say that in the last three attempts I have taken
the exam, my percentage of correct answers has been about 50%.
To pass the exam, I need to get 70-80% correct. The format of the
exam has changed from this time; previously it was essay only,
but the new format now includes a summary essay. I was able to
write both the summary and the essay, but unfortunately it will
still not be enough to pass.
But from now on, I would like to continue to study English, not only
with exam questions, but also with anything related to English.
For example, by writing this blog in both Japanese and English,
I can let my friends overseas, with whom I cannot usually keep in
touch frequently, know what I am up to. I think this is another
way to enjoy English.
