でも祝日に路麺が開いてるかどうかの確認は必要ですね。西武新宿線の上井草駅にやって来ました。

It was a national holiday, yesterday. It was Vernal Equinox Day. Can you understand the meaning from the English name of the national holiday? I struggled to explain the national holiday in English on the English lesson to the foriegn teacher. I explained Vernal Equinox Day is the first day of Spring at first, and then I explained the day time and night time is completely same in the day, next. She said she understood but she seemed she understood the meaning of the day but didin't understand why the day is a national holiday. Of course, I don't know why.
Anyway, "A national holiday is sometimes Romen Day". Make sure if the target Romen is opened on a national holiday. I took a train of Seibu Shinjuku Line, and got off at Kami-Igusa Station.

新潟発祥なおじ
新潟のお店ではないようですが、典型的な新潟燕三条ラーメンっぽい感じです。食べてみたい！
This is the ramen restaurant NAOJI inspired by ramen noodles in Niigata prefecture. I would like to try this kind of typical Niigata Tsubame Sanjo ramen noodles.

This TORAYA, today's Romen restaurant. This has been a newly opend last year.
コの字型のカウンター。とらやは寅さんから来ているようです。
There is a "コ" shaped counter table. It seems the name TORAYA is coming from Tora-san of old Japanese movie series, "Otoko ha Tsurai-yo". And I saw there was a business card of Yoshinori Sakazaki, a writer, his specialty is about Romen and soba noodles.
春菊天そば
I ordered shungiku-ten(tempura of crown daisy) soba noodles. It was 570 yen.
おっと独特ですね。製麺所の茹で麺だと思いますが、平打ちのもちもち系です。坂崎さんの記事を後からチェックしたら小山駅きそばに影響を受けているようで、そこと同じ中沢製麺から取り寄せているようです。お汁は暗黒系。個性的です。ごちそうさまでした。
The soba noodle is unique, having flat shaped and chewy texture. It seems the soba noodle is made by a noodle factory. According to the Sakazaki-san's article, they bought the soba noodles from Nakazawa Noodle Factory. Kisoba at Oyama Station (already closed) used and the current Kisoba in Utsunomia city uses the same noodles. The black color soup had strong soy sauce taste but slight dashi flavor. I did't like the soup and soba noodles so much.

Let me start Roka Sampo! This area looks residential area. Unfortunately, it started raining suddenly. I didn't expect rain fall. I didn't bring my unbrella but it was OK because I was wearing sport parka with water prepellant feature.

I stopped by Igusa Hachimangu Shrine. I always worship and ask the same request at a shrine.

This is Tokyo Women's Christian University. There were many beautiful university students around there. Do you know the three major women's university? The answer is Tsudajuku Univ., Japan Women's Univ. and Tokyo Women's Christian Univ.
武蔵野八幡宮
I stopped by Musashino Hachimangu Shrine.
吉祥寺まで来ました。やっぱり活気がありますね！
I got to Kichijoji. I was wondering which "ku" Kichijoji is in. However, Kichijoji is in Musashino city. Kichijoji is a very popular spot for all age population. There are a lot of high reputation restaurants there.

I have never tried these games. I am curious about this and I know and I see people who walk and enjoy this kind of real experience games(mystery solving games?) in a town in Tokyo.
