I visited my parents' house several times last week to deal with tasks I had to do. Most of you already know why I often went to my parents' house. I feel this kind of rural area including the city where my parents live doesn't have good future any more because of population decreasing.
帰りに道の駅 宇陀路大宇陀に立ち寄りました。
After finishing some tasks, on the way to Osaka, I stopped by the roadside rest area, Udaji-Oouda, in Uda city, Nara prefecture.
地元の食材や食品が沢山あります。
There were a lot of local foods and fresh vegetables.
曽爾高原の地ビールを購入しました。まあまあかな。
I bought SONI KOHGEN PILSNER. There were other types of beers, Alt and Kelsch. It seems these are brewed by Soni Kogen Farm Garden, not brewery. Don't expect too much quality and taste.
地酒の千代の松も購入。古典的な日本酒の味がします。
I also bought a local Japanese sake, Chiyo-no-Matsu, brewed by Yoshimura Shuzo brewery in Uda city, Nara prefecture. This sake brewery doesn't have their own website, so I don't have enough information about this sake and brewery. This sake had traditional sake taste, not modern sake taste.

My wife cooked us Ehou-maki(a long sushi role). Eating Ehou-maki on Setsubun, February 3 became a common tradition all over Japan recently but it was a tradition in only Kansai area in the past. Commercialization drives the creation of new markets and the integration of new traditions. Do you follow the Ehou-maki tradition? By the way, I bought my mother a short Ehou-maki.
