Photographer /Danny Evans:

Danny Evans is a unique photographer. He used to paint and make sculpture,
but since 1999, he has worked mainly in photography.

His work has appeared in “House & Garden”, “Radar”, “Wallpaper” and
“The New York Observer”.

However, I think that his “Radar” cover photos of Nicole Kidman and Sharon
Stone are a little strange. It is true that Danny makes controversial Celebrity
“Make Down” photographs…no, not “Make Overs”, using computer graphics
which turn beautiful celebrities into ordinary looking people and sometimes
even worse.

With such derogatory treatment, does he ever receive complaints from
his victims? “Don’t worry”, he bragged. “Even though I’ve ‘Made Down’
most of America’s top celebrities, they do not complain. In fact, the other day,
I received compliments from the Hilton sisters.” With Danny’s sense of
humor and computer technology, he has reversed “Beauties of the Century”,
such as the Hilton sisters, Nicole Kidman, Sarah Jessica Parker and Sharon
Stone, into the “Invisible” average woman that no one notices.

His celebrity “Deconstruction of Beauty” photos are unique, but that’s not
all he does. His series of photographs of a doll’s face, is somehow a little weird.

However, he takes great portraits too.

This natural, atmospheric, black & white photo, is of Simon Doonan, who
was Danny’s boss when he worked in Visual Merchandising at Barney’s.

Currently, he is focusing on a project that is very much in his unique
style, Gay Carrington.

Danny imagined that she is an old star who has recently come back to give
advice to young celebrities.

Their collaboration on Gay Carrington is an amusing project for them.
New York has so many fabulous, unique people, that I never get bored.
