25章

1

1 新世界 1そして、彼が王であった第九年、第十の月、その月の十日に、バビロンの王ネブカドネザルは、しかも彼とその全軍勢はエルサレムに攻めて来て、これに向かって陣営を張り、これに向かって周囲に攻囲壁を築きはじめたのである。

2 新共同 1そこでゼデキヤの治世の第九年の十月十日に、バビロンの王ネブカデネザルはもろもろの軍勢を率い、エルサレムにきて、これにむかって陣を張り、周囲にとりでを築いてこれを攻めた。

4そして、都はついに破られ、戦人はみな夜のうちに、王の園の傍らにある二重の城壁の間の門の道から[逃げた]。一方、カルデア人はこの市を囲んでいた。そこで[王]はアラバの方へ行きはじめた。

4 The city wall was broken through, and all the soldiers fled by night through the gate between the double wall near the king’s garden, while the Chal·deʹans were surrounding the city; and the king went by the way of the Arʹa·bah.

8 In the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, that is, in the 19th year of King Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar the king of Babylon, Neb·uʹzar·adʹan the chief of the guard, the servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.

8 And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month (which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon), Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.

9 He burned down the house of Jehovah, the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem; he also burned down the house of every prominent man.

10 And the walls surrounding Jerusalem were pulled down by the entire Chal·deʹan army that was with the chief of the guard.

11 Neb·uʹzar·adʹan the chief of the guard took into exile the rest of the people who were left in the city, the deserters who had gone over to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the population.

11 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive the rest of the people who remained in the city and the defectors who had deserted to the king of Babylon, with the rest of the multitude.

12ただし、護衛の長は、この地の立場の低い者たちの一部をぶどう栽培者や強制労働者として残した。

13 The bronze pillars that were in the house of the LORD, and the carts and the bronze Sea that were in the house of the LORD, the Chaldeans broke in pieces, and carried their bronze to Babylon.

13 The Babylonians broke up the bronze pillars, the movable stands and the bronze Sea that were at the temple of the LORD and they carried the bronze to Babylon.

14また、缶、シャベル、明かり消し、杯、および奉仕するために用いたすべての銅の器具を奪った。

14またつぼと、十能と、心切りばさみと、香を盛る皿およびすべて神殿の務に用いる青銅の器、

14 They also took the cans, the shovels, the extinguishers, the cups, and all the copper utensils used in the temple service.

16 As for the two pillars, the Sea, and the carriages that Solʹo·mon had made for the house of Jehovah, the copper of all these articles was beyond weighing.

17 Each pillar was 18 cubits high, and the capital on it was of copper; and the height of the capital was three cubits, and the network and pomegranates all around on the capital were all made of copper. The second pillar with its network was like it.

19戦人を指揮していた廷臣一人と、市内で見つけられた、王に接することができる者たちのうちの五人と、この地の民を召集する者である、軍の長の書記官と、市内で見つけられたこの地の民のうち六十人を市から捕らえて行った。

19また兵士をつかさどるひとりの役人と、王の前にはべる者のうち、町で見つかった者五人と、その地の民を募った軍勢の長の書記官と、町で見つかったその地の民六十人を町から捕え去った。

19 And he took from the city one court official who was the commissioner over the soldiers, five close associates of the king who were found in the city, as well as the secretary of the chief of the army, the one mustering the people of the land, and 60 men of the common people of the land who were yet found in the city.

19 He also took out of the city an officer who had charge of the men of war, five men of the king’s close associates who were found in the city, the chief recruiting officer of the army, who mustered the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land who were found in the city.

19 From the city he took one official who was overseer of the men of war, and five of the king’s advisers who were found in the city; and the scribe of the captain of the army who mustered the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land who were found in the city.

19 Of those still in the city, he took the officer in charge of the fighting men, and five royal advisers. He also took the secretary who was chief officer in charge of conscripting the people of the land and sixty of the conscripts who were found in the city.

20 Neb·uʹzar·adʹan the chief of the guard took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at Ribʹlah.

22 King Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar of Babylon appointed Ged·a·liʹah the son of A·hiʹkam the son of Shaʹphan over the people whom he had left behind in the land of Judah.

22 Then he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, governor over the people who remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left.

22 Now as for the people who were left in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, he appointed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan over them.

22 Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to be over the people he had left behind in Judah.

23軍勢のすべての長、彼らとその部下たちは、バビロンの王がゲダリヤを任じたことを聞くや、直ちにミツパにいるゲダリヤのもとに来た。すなわち、ネタヌヤの子イシュマエル、カレアハの子ヨハナン、ネトファ人タヌフメトの子セラヤ、マアカト人の子ヤアザヌヤ、これらとその部下たちであった。

23 When all the army chiefs and their men heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Ged·a·liʹah, they immediately came to Ged·a·liʹah at Mizʹpah. They were Ishʹma·el the son of Neth·a·niʹah, Jo·haʹnan the son of Ka·reʹah, Se·raiʹah the son of Tan·huʹmeth the Ne·tophʹa·thite, and Ja·az·a·niʹah the son of the Ma·acʹa·thite, together with their men.

23 Now when all the captains of the armies, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah—Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, Johanan the son of Careah, Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

23 When all the captains of the forces, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah governor, they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, namely, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

23 When all the army officers and their men heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah as governor, they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah—Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan son of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, Jaazaniah the son of the Maakathite, and their men.

24そこでゲダリヤは彼らとその部下に誓って、こう言った。「カルデア人の僕[となること]を恐れてはならない。この地に住んで、バビロンの王に仕えなさい。そうすれば、あなた方にとって物事は順調に行くであろう」。

24 Ged·a·liʹah swore an oath to them and their men and said to them: “Do not be afraid of being servants to the Chal·deʹans. Live in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will go well with you.”

24 And Gedaliah took an oath before them and their men, and said to them, “Do not be afraid of the servants of the Chaldeans. Dwell in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.”

24 Gedaliah swore to them and their men and said to them,”Do not be afraid of the servants of the Chaldeans; live in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will be well with you.”

24 Gedaliah took an oath to reassure them and their men. “Do not be afraid of the Babylonian officials,” he said. “Settle down in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will go well with you.”

25ところが、第七の月に、王族の子孫のエリシャマの子ネタヌヤの子イシュマエルは、十人の部下と共にやって来て、ゲダリヤを討ち倒したので、彼は死んだのである。また、ミツパで彼と共にいたユダヤ人とカルデア人たちをも[殺した]。

25ところが七月になって、王の血統のエリシャマの子であるネタニヤの子イシマエルは十人の者と共にきて、ゲダリヤを撃ち殺し、また彼と共にミヅパにいたユダヤ人と、カルデヤびとを殺した。

25ところが第七の月に、王族のひとり、エリシャマの子ネタヌヤの子イシュマエルは、十人の部下を連れてやって来て、ゲダルヤを打ち殺し、ミツパで彼といっしょにいたユダヤ人たちと、カルデヤ人たちを打ち殺した。

25 And in the seventh month, Ishʹma·el son of Neth·a·niʹah son of E·lishʹa·ma, who was of the royal line, came with ten other men, and they struck down Ged·a·liʹah and he died, along with the Jews and the Chal·deʹans who were with him in Mizʹpah.

25 But it happened in the seventh month that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the royal family, came with ten men and struck and killed Gedaliah, the Jews, as well as the Chaldeans who were with him at Mizpah.

26 After that all the people, from small to great, including the army chiefs, rose up and went to Egypt, for they were afraid of the Chal·deʹans.

27 And in the 37th year of the exile of King Je·hoiʹa·chin of Judah, in the 12th month, on the 27th day of the month, King Eʹvil-merʹo·dach of Babylon, in the year he became king, released King Je·hoiʹa·chin of Judah from prison.

27 Now it came to pass in the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, that Evil-Merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, released Jehoiachin king of Judah from prison.
